PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To legibly display information which a user desires to know among information about an object projected in a real world image.

SOLUTION: An information display device 100 includes: a distance acquisition unit 650 that acquires a distance between an object projected in a real world image inputted by an image input unit 300 and a view point of the real world image; an own position attitude calculation unit 640 that acquires a position of the view point of the real world image; an object positioning unit 660 that acquires a position in a real world of the object on the basis of the acquired position of the view point and a distance, a direction, and an elevation angle of the object with respect to the view point; an object superposition unit 710 that outputs an image in which information about the object and the real world image are superimposed; and an information output control unit 690 that determines the manner of presenting the information outputted by the object superposition unit 710 in accordance with the acquired distance.

【解決手段】情報表示装置100は、映像入力部300が入力した実世界映像に映し出されるオブジェクトと実世界映像の視点との間の距離を取得する距離取得部650と、実世界映像の視点の位置を取得する自位置姿勢算出部640と、取得された視点の位置と、視点を基準としたオブジェクトの距離、方位および仰角とに基づいて、オブジェクトの実世界における位置を取得するオブジェクト測位部660と、オブジェクトに関する情報と実世界映像とを重畳した映像を出力するオブジェクト重畳部710と、取得された距離に応じて、オブジェクト重畳部710が出力する情報の提示の仕方を決定する情報出力制御部690と、を有する。
