PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network monitoring device and a network monitoring method with a reduced false detection rate.

SOLUTION: A network monitoring device comprises: a monitoring part configured to monitor data transmitted via a network which performs monitoring control of a power system of a substation; a system accident determination database representing a correspondence relationship between an accident in the power system and a type of data transmitted via the network; a calculation part configured to calculate an amount of data monitored by the monitoring part; a first determination part configured to determine whether the amount of data is greater than a threshold value; a second determination part configured to determine whether a system accident has occurred or not on the basis of the system accident determination database and a type of the monitored data when the amount of transmission of the monitored data is greater than the threshold value; and a stop control part configured to cause the first determination part to stop determination when the second determination part has determined that the system accident has occurred.

【課題】誤検出の低減を図ったネットワーク監視装置およびネットワーク監視方法を提供する。
【解決手段】ネットワーク監視装置は,変電所の電力系統を監視制御するネットワークで伝送されるデータをモニタするモニタ部と,前記電力系統での事故と,前記ネットワークで伝送されるデータの種別と,の対応関係を表す系統事故判別データベースと,前記モニタ部でモニタされたデータ量を算出する算出部と,前記データ量が閾値より大きいか否かを判別する第1の判別部と,前記モニタされた伝送量が閾値より大きい場合に,前記系統事故判別データベースおよび前記モニタされるデータの種別に基づいて,系統事故の発生の有無を判別する第2の判別部と,前記系統事故が発生していると前記第2の判別部が判別したときに,前記第1の判別部での判別を停止させる停止制御部と,を具備する。
