PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light beam scanner, with which a light-deflecting element that can make a polygon mirror miniaturized and the divergent angle of a scanning beam is suitably set.
SOLUTION: The light beam scanner 1a has a light source unit 10 and a light-deflecting mechanism 300, which scans a light beam emitted from the light source unit 10 in a predetermined range of angle by a transmission type light-deflecting disk 310. The light source unit 10 has a light source 20 comprising a laser diode and a focusing lens 30, which guides the light beam emitted form the light source 20 as convergent light focused on the transmission type light-deflecting disk 310 or its vicinity at least either in a first direction or a second direction orthogonal to the optical axis. Furthermore, the divergent angle of the light beam emitted from the transmission type light-deflecting disk 310 is set to a desired angle in the direction orthogonal to the scanning direction of the transmission type light-deflecting disk 310 by a divergent angle changing lens 60.
