An exhaust purification system of an internal combustion engine which is controlled so that a combustion air-fuel ratio becomes lean at the time of ordinary operation, provided with an adsorption part 51 which adsorb unburned fuel which is contained in exhaust gas and an oxidation part 52 which has catalyst particles of a metal which oxidizes carbon monoxide. The adsorption part 51 includes zeolite 61 which substantially adsorbs the lower olefins which are contained in the exhaust gas. The adsorption part 51 and the oxidation part 52 are arranged so that the exhaust gas contacts the adsorption part 51, then contacts the oxidation part 52.

L'invention concerne un dispositif d'épuration des gaz d'échappement pour un moteur à combustion interne qui est commandé de sorte que le rapport air/carburant de combustion soit maigre pendant le fonctionnement normal. Le dispositif d'épuration des gaz d'échappement pour un moteur à combustion interne comprend une partie d'adsorption (51) qui adsorbe le carburant non brûlé contenu dans un gaz d'échappement, et une partie d'oxydation (52) qui comprend des particules de catalyseur (62) d'un métal qui oxyde le monoxyde de carbone. La partie d'adsorption (51) contient une zéolite (61) qui adsorbe sensiblement une oléfine inférieure contenue dans le gaz d'échappement.
