In order to provide a small air-intake apparatus for an internal combustion engine, which can satisfactorily control an air flow and can reduce energy loss in a rotary valve, the air-intake apparatus includes a surge tank; a first air-intake passage communicating with the surge tank; a second air-intake passage communicating with the surge tank; a casing including a first port connected to the first air-intake passage, a second port connected to the second air-intake passage, and an outlet port connected to an air-intake portion of the internal combustion engine; a rotary valve including a rotor housed in a valve casing portion of the casing to be rotatable about a rotational axis, the rotary valve being configured to control air intake directed to the air-intake portion by rotation of the rotor; and a first seal for sealing between the rotor and a surface of the valve casing portion facing the rotor with at least either one of the first port, second port and outlet port being closed.

Afin d'obtenir un dispositif d'admission d'air de petite taille pour moteur à combustion interne, pouvant commander de manière satisfaisante un courant d'air et pouvant réduire la perte d'énergie dans une soupape rotative, la présente invention porte sur un dispositif d'admission d'air comprenant un réservoir d'équilibre ; un premier trajet d'admission d'air en communication avec le réservoir d'équilibre, un second trajet d'admission d'air en communication avec le réservoir d'équilibre ; une enceinte comportant un premier orifice relié au premier trajet d'admission d'air, un second orifice relié au second trajet d'admission d'air et un orifice de sortie relié à une partie d'admission d'air d'un moteur à combustion interne ; une soupape rotative comprenant un rotor contenu dans une partie de boîtier de soupape du carter de façon à tourner autour du cœur d'un arbre rotatif, afin de commander l'air d'admission délivré vers les parties d'admission d'air par la rotation du rotor ; et un premier joint d'étanchéité assurant l'étanchéité dans l'espace entre le rotor et la partie de la partie de boîtier de soupape est opposée au rotor, lorsqu'au moins un élément quelconque parmi le premier orifice, le second orifice et l'orifice de sortie est fermé par le rotor.
