Disclosed is a control device that can make a vehicle take off from a stationary status during which power is generated, whilst maintaining that power generation status and whilst continuing to suppress reduction in durability of a second engagement device. The control device controls a vehicle drive device which comprises: an input member (I) connected to and driven by an internal combustion engine; an intermediate member (M) connected to and driven by a rotating electrical machine; an output member (O) connected to and driven by a wheel; a first engagement device (CT) provided between the input member (I) and the intermediate member (M); and the second engagement device (C1) provided between the intermediate member (M) and the output member (O). The rotating electrical machine generates power while the first engagement device is directly engaged, and has a differential rotation control region wherein the first engagement device is moved from direct engagement to slipping engagement and the second engagement device is moved from disengagement to slipping engagement during special takeoff control, which controls the vehicle so as to take off while the second engagement device is disengaged and the rotating electrical machine is generating power.
