This invention is a system for pet excrement removal, separating the excrements from the clean litter by lodging them in a separate compartment (4) from the litter box. To do so, it is only necessary to rotate a cylinder (2). The system has a removable litter tray (3) where the animal can do its physiological needs. The fact that it is removable allows for an easy sanitation, because it can be removed from the system, with or without litter, which simplifies its washing, increasing the hygiene of the litter box. The removable litter tray (3), previously mentioned, has a support base (6) for entry and exit of the animal, which allows removal of the litter attached to the animal's paws, when exiting the litter box, in order to keep the surrounding environment clean.

The present invention relates to methods of treating and managing Parkinson's disease and related disorders. The methods especially find use in managing motor symptoms, including gait problems, particularly during advanced stages when effectiveness of standard medications wear off or side effects become problematic, as seen in Parkinson's disease, other disorders treated with dopaminergic agents, and other conditions associated with motor problems, such as aging or stroke. The treatment also may include disease-modifying effects, neuroprotection of, or neurorescue effects on neuronal cells in patients with Parkinson's disease and other neurodegenerative disorders. In particular, the invention relates to method of administering pharmaceutical compositions comprising effective amounts of tapentadol or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or derivative thereof or, in other embodiments, stavudine or nabumetone, or a derivative thereof, for treating symptoms associated with Parkinson's disease, either as individual active agents, in combination with each other, or in combination with agents known to treat Parkinson's disease, such as the dopaminergic agent levodopa. The invention also relates to methods of preparing pharmaceutical compositions comprising effective amounts of tapentadol, stavudine, or nabumetone, or a derivative thereof, or further in combination with a dopaminergic agent, or derivative thereof, as well as to methods of using the pharmaceutical compositions in treating Parkinson's disease, related disorders, other conditions treated with dopaminergic agents, and other conditions with gait problems, for example by oral administration of the compositions.

The present invention relates to a medical device used as an aid for moving persons from a dorsal decubitus to a lateral decubitus position. The device uses a lever principle to turn a person into the lateral decubitus position. It comprises a scapular support comprising a spindle (8) of circular cross-section and a scapular plate (10), the latter being placed under a person in the dorsal decubitus position and the former being placed between the person's arm and trunk. The device further comprises a T-shaped structure, with the spindle (8) of circular cross-section inserted into the control plate (1). The support plate (2) is placed between the person's arm and trunk. The spindle (8) of circular cross-section is then attached to the control plate (1) by two pins (9) of the spindle (8) of circular cross-section. Finally, the healthcare assistant uses the control plate (1) to initiate the rotation movement until the person is in the lateral decubitus position, in which the person is supported by the T-shaped structure.

The present invention relates to a catalytic system that is able to produce different chemical products by direct electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide by controlling easily tunable parameters, such as applied current/potential, pressure, temperature, electrolyte composition and nature of the cathode at temperatures from room temperature up to 100°C, and pressures from atmospheric pressure up to 100 bar. These chemical products are alcohols with one to ten carbon atoms, ketones up to four carbon atoms and syngas. The catalytic system comprises a catalytic cathode coupled to a hydrophilic ionic liquid-based electrolyte containing water and dissolved C02. Preferably the invention envisages the use of carbon dioxide captured from industrial emissions and the use of electricity from renewable resources.

The present invention relates to a method for detecting c.-124 C>T and c.-146 C>T mutations in the Htert gene promoter. The method uses reaction compositions that comprise amplification primers and genotyping probes. Another aspect of this invention relates to the primers and probes used to implement the aforementioned method, with sequences, identified as SEQ ID no.1 to SEQ ID no.6, that display high specificity for these mutations, and to the compositions containing these primers and probes. The present invention further relates to a kit comprising the above-mentioned compositions for detecting c.-124 C>T and c.-146 C>T mutations in the Htert gene promoter by carrying out the method according to the present invention. The method, gene sequences, compositions and kit of the present invention can be advantageously used for detecting trace amounts of c.-124 C>T and c.-146 C>T mutations in biological samples, due to their high sensitivity and specificity for such mutations.
