Additional optional steps provide customization of the end brackets.

The slit defines a restricted fluid flow path and a relatively small interior volume when in an undisturbed state, defines an expanded fluid flow path and a larger interior volume upon the introduction of the second medical instrument into the slit, and retracts to define a restricted flow path and a small interior volume upon the withdrawal of the second medical device from the seal.

The well environment can be remotely monitored using the buoy communication system. Servicing of the oilfield well is accomplished using the service vessel (100). The service vessel (100) is preferably a self-contained facility fitted with the equipment and materials necessary to carry out pre-determined well servicing operations. Service vessel personnel deploy the equipment and material into the riser (50) via the buoy hatch (90) after the buoy (80) has been docked in a bay (124) formed in the service vessel (100).
