The present invention relates to an illumination intensity responsive light controlling apparatus attached to an image capturing device used for crime prevention or crackdown. According to the present invention, the illumination intensity responsive light controlling apparatus is formed to be able rotate by having a first polarized filter and a second polarized filter overlapping each other; controls whether a motor unit is operated depending on an amount of emitted light using an illumination intensity sensor of the illumination intensity sensing unit; and adjusts the amount of light emitted to a lens of the image capturing device by flexibly responding to a brightness of ambient light when the second polarized filter engaged with a driving sawteeth of a motor unit rotates, thereby obtaining a clear image. 본 발명은 방범용이나 단속용으로 사용되는 영상촬영장치에 부착되는 조도감응형 광량조절장치에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 조도감응형 광량조절장치는 제 1편광필터 및 제 2편광필터가 겹쳐져 회전이 가능하도록 구성되고, 조도감지부의 조도감지센서를 통하여 투사되는 빛의 양에 따라 모터부의 구동여부가 제어되고, 모터부의 구동톱니와 맞물려 있는 제 2편광필터가 회전하게 되어 주변의 밝기에 유동적으로 반응하여 영상촬영장치의 렌즈로 투사되는 빛의 양을 조절함으로 선명한 영상결과물을 얻게 된다.
