PURPOSE: A defrosting device for a refrigerator is provided to prevent temperature rising of a freezer compartment even in the case of defrosting for evaporators by selectively forming paths for guiding air flow.

CONSTITUTION: A defrosting device for a refrigerator includes temperature sensors mounted to first and second evaporators(68a,68b) of a freezer compartment for sensing temperature change thereof. First and second defrosting heaters(72a,72b) are mounted to the evaporators for defrosting the evaporators according to temperature values sensed by the sensors. A refrigerant distribution element such as a 3-way valve introduces refrigerant to either or both of the evaporators by a blower unit. A path changing unit includes a barrier wall(82) mounted between the evaporators and first and second dampers(84a,84b) mounted to the barrier wall, and controls introduction of the refrigerant with respect to the evaporators. A control part controls operations of a blower unit, the heaters, the refrigerant distribution element and the path changing unit according to the temperature value sensed by the sensors.

본 발명은 증발기 주변의 공기 중 수분이 증발기 표면에 응결된 서리를 제상히터에 의해 제거해주는 냉장고의 제상장치에 관한 것으로서, 특히 한 쌍의 증발기 및 각각에 제상히터를 구비하여 한 쌍의 증발기가 선택적으로 제상이 이루어지도록 하고, 한 쌍의 증발기 주변에 공기의 출입을 안내하는 유로가변수단을 구비하여 제상이 이루어지는 증발기에는 공기가 출입되지 못하게 하여 제상작용이 이루어지도록 하는 동시에 제상이 이루어지지 않는 증발기에는 공기가 출입되면서 냉각작용을 수행하도록 하기 때문에 효과적으로 제상이 이루어질 뿐 아니라 냉동실 및 냉장실의 온도가 급격하게 올라가는 현상을 방지할 수 있어 음식물 등을 장기간 신선하게 보관할 수 있다.
