(EN) The disclosure relates to a 5th generation (5G) or 6th generation (6G) communication system for supporting a data transmission rate higher than a 4th generation (4G) communication system such as long term evolution (LTE). A user equipment (UE) is provided. The UE includes a transceiver, and a controller configured to receive system information including information related to transmission of a random access preamble, and to transmit a physical random access channel (PRACH) including the random access preamble. The PRACH includes at least one primary signal part including a first sequence for measuring a first delay within a symbol, and at least one secondary signal part including a second sequence for measuring a second delay in units of symbols, and a round trip delay (RTD) between the UE and the base station may be determined based on the first delay within the symbol and the second delay in units of symbols.
(FR) La divulgation concerne un système de communication 5ᵉ génération (5G) ou de 6ᵉ génération (6G) permettant de prendre en charge un débit de transmission de données supérieur à un système de communication de 4ᵉ génération (4G) tel qu'une technologie d'évolution à long terme (LTE). L'invention concerne un équipement utilisateur (UE). L'UE comprend un émetteur-récepteur, et un dispositif de commande configuré pour recevoir des informations de système comprenant des informations relatives à la transmission d'un préambule d'accès aléatoire, et pour transmettre un canal d'accès aléatoire physique (PRACH) comprenant le préambule d'accès aléatoire. Le PRACH comprend au moins une partie de signal primaire comprenant une première séquence pour mesurer un premier retard à l'intérieur d'un symbole, et au moins une partie de signal secondaire comprenant une seconde séquence pour mesurer un second retard dans des unités de symboles, et un temps de transmission aller-retour (RTD) entre l'UE et la station de base peut être déterminé sur la base du premier retard à l'intérieur du symbole et du second retard dans des unités de symboles.
