Claims:

1. A photocurable composition comprising:

i) 20-90% by weight of a polymerizable core resin;

ii) 20-90% by weight of a diluent resin miscible with said core resin; and

iii) at least about 1% by weight of at least one rheology modifier, said rheology modifier being distinct from said diluent resin;

wherein the total amount of (i), (ii), and (iii) is between 90 wt.% to 100 wt.% of the photocurable composition; and

wherein the rheology modifier is a compound of general formula I:

wherein A is selected from the group consisting of optionally substituted alkyl, optionally substituted alkenyl, optionally substituted aryl group, optionally substituted alkoxy and optionally substituted organosilicon polymer;

P is optionally present, and is a polymerizable terminal functional group capable of covalently bonding to said core resin, or said diluent resin, or both; and wherein P is, in each instance, independently selected from the group consisting of acrylates, methacrylates, epoxides, oxetanes, nitriles, alkenes and alkynes; and

where P is present, n is an integer of between 1 to 20.

2. The photocurable composition of claim 1 , wherein P is a methacrylate, acrylate, vinyl or epoxide group.

3. The photocurable composition of any of the preceding claims, P is an acrylate group.

4. The photocurable composition of any one of the preceding claims, wherein n is 1 -10.

5. The photocurable composition of any one of the preceding claims, wherein A comprises between 1 to 40 carbon atoms.

6. The photocurable composition of any one of the preceding claims, wherein A comprises between 1 to 20 carbon atoms.

7. The photocurable composition of any one of the preceding claims, wherein A is an optionally substituted aliphatic alkyl, optionally substituted aliphatic alkoxy, optionally substituted aliphatic alkenyl, optionally substituted aromatic group, or optionally substituted organosilicon group.

8. The photocurable composition of any one of the preceding claims, wherein A is an optionally substituted aliphatic alkyl, optionally substituted aromatic or optionally substituted organosilicon group.

9. The photocurable composition of any one of the preceding claims, wherein A comprises at least one polar substituent selected from the group consisting of acrylates, methacrylates, epoxides, aldehydes, ketones, carboxylic acids, ethers, esters, amides, hydroxyls, amines, halogens and nitriles.

The photocurable composition of any one of preceding claims, wherein the rheology modifier further comprises a linker group B between the polymerizable group P and central group A, wherein the linker group B is selected from the group consisting of optionally substituted alkyl, optionally substituted alkenyl, optionally substituted aryl, optionally substituted arylalkyl, optionally substituted arylalkenyl, optionally substituted alkylaryl, optionally substituted alkenylaryl, optionally substituted alkoxy, optionally substituted alkenyloxy, optionally substituted aryloxy and optionally substituted siloxy groups.

1 1 . The photocurable composition of any one of the preceding claims, wherein n is 1 -10

12. The photocurable composition of any one of the preceding claims, wherein n is 8.

13. The photocurable composition of any one of claims 1 -1 1 , wherein A is a cyclic ether group.

14. The photocurable composition of any one of claims 1 -1 1 , wherein the rheology modifier is tetrahydrofurfuryl methacrylate.

15. The photocurable composition of any one of claims 1 -12, wherein A is an optionally substituted organosilicon hybrid cage molecule.

16. The photocurable composition of any one of claims 1 -12, wherein A is an optionally substituted polyhedral oligomeric silsequioxane (POSS) cage.

17. The photocurable composition of any one of claims 1 -12, wherein the rheology modifier is a methacrylate functionalized POSS cage molecule:


18. The photocurable composition of claims 1 and 5-9, wherein the rheology modifier is a polyethylene glycol functionalized POSS cage molecule:


19. A photocurable composition comprising:

i) 20-90% by weight of a polymerizable core resin;

ii) 20-90% by weight of a diluent resin miscible with said core resin;

iii) at least around 1% by weight of at least one rheology modifier;

wherein the rheology modifier has a size of 1 -200 nm; and

wherein the total amount of (i), (ii) and (iii) is between 90 to 100 wt.% of said photocurable composition.

20. The photocurable composition of claim 17, wherein the rheology modifier comprises at least one polar substituent selected from the group consisting of acrylates, methacrylates, epoxides, aldehydes, ketones, carboxylic acids, ethers, amides, hydroxyls, amines, halides and nitriles.

21 . The photocurable composition of claims 19-20, wherein the rheology modifier comprises carboxylic acids, ethers or amines.

22. The photocurable composition of claims 19-21 , wherein the rheology modifier may be an inorganic oxide nanoparticle, a hybrid nanoparticle or a hybrid cage molecule.

23. The photocurable composition of claims 19-22, wherein the rheology modifier is an inorganic oxide nanoparticle.

24. The photocurable composition of claim 23, wherein the inorganic oxide nanoparticle is an oxide of silicon, zinc or titanium.

25. The photocurable composition of claims 19-22, wherein the rheology modifier is a hybrid cage molecule.

26. The photocurable composition of claim 25, wherein the hybrid cage molecule is a polyhedral oligomeric silsequioxane (POSS) cage molecule.

27. The photocurable composition of claim 26, wherein said POSS is optionally substituted with alkyl, cycloalkyl, haloalkyl, aromatic, polyether groups.

28. The photocurable composition of any one of the preceding claims, wherein the rheology modifier is present in an amount of about 1 -50% by weight of the photocurable composition.

29. The photocurable composition of any one of the preceding claims, wherein the rheology modifier is present in an amount of 1 -10% by weight of the photocurable composition

30. The photocurable composition of any one of the preceding claims, wherein the polymerizable core resin is present in an amount of 35-60% by weight of the photocurable composition.

31 . The photocurable composition of any one of the preceding claims, wherein the diluent resin is present in an amount of about 30-70% by weight of the photocurable composition.

32. The photocurable composition of any one of the preceding claims, wherein the composition further comprises photoinitiators and photostabilizers.
