CLAIMS

1. A collecting device (1 ) for collecting gas, said collecting device (1 ) being adapted to be connected to a drilling equipment (7), the collecting device (1 ) comprising:

a skirt (3) adapted to define an internal volume (3a) of the skirt (3);

a connection element (2) adapted to connect the drilling equipment (7) to the skirt (3), in such a way that the drilling equipment (7) partially extends in the internal volume (3a) of the skirt (3); and

a gas collecting system (4) adapted to collect gas contained in the internal volume (3a) of the skirt (3).

2. The collecting device (1 ) of claim 1 , wherein the connection element (2) is adapted to connect the drilling equipment (7) to the skirt (3) in a sealed manner.

3. The collecting device (1 ) of any of claims 1 and 2, wherein the gas collecting system (4) is located on the connection element (2).

4. The collecting device (1 ) of any of claims 1 and 2, wherein the gas collecting system (4) is located on the skirt (3).

5. The collecting device (1 ) of any of preceding claims, further comprising a first sealing element (5) between the skirt (3) and the connection element (2).

6. The collecting device (1 ) of any of preceding claims, wherein the skirt (3) is at least partially flexible.

7. The collecting device (1 ) of claim 6, wherein the skirt (3) comprises a bellows.

8. The collecting device (1 ) of any of preceding claims, wherein the skirt (3) substantially extends along a longitudinal axis corresponding to a drilling direction (9).

9. The collecting device (1 ) of any of preceding claims, wherein the gas collecting system (4) comprises a gas analyzer adapted to analyze a composition of the collected gas.

1 0. The collecting device (1 ) of any of preceding claims, further comprising, at an end of the skirt (3) opposite to the connection element (2), a second sealing element (1 0).

1 1 . The collecting device (1 ) of any of preceding claims, further comprising a guidance system adapted to guide a drill bit (8) of the drilling equipment (7) in a drilling direction (9).

1 2. The collecting device (1 ) of claim 1 1 , wherein the skirt (3) substantially extends along a longitudinal axis, said longitudinal axis corresponding to the drilling direction (9), and wherein the guidance system comprises:

a first plate (1 1 ), a second plate (1 2) and at least one shaft (1 3a, 1 3b, 1 3c, 1 3d);

wherein the first plate (1 1 ) is connected to the connection element (2) ;

wherein the second plate (12) is connected to an end of the skirt (3) opposite to the connection element (2);

wherein each shaft among the at least one shaft (1 3a, 13b, 1 3c, 1 3d) is connected to the second plate (12) ;

wherein the first plate (1 1 ) comprises at least one hole, each hole among the at least one hole being able to receive a respective shaft among the at least one shaft (13a, 13b, 13c, 13d), and

wherein the first plate (1 1 ) is able to slide along the drilling direction (9) and is guided by the at least one shaft (1 3a, 1 3b, 1 3c, 1 3d).

1 3. A drilling system comprising:

a drilling equipment (7); and

a collecting device (1 ) adapted for collecting gas, said collecting device (1 ) being connected to the drilling equipment (7), the collecting device (1 ) comprising:

a skirt (3) adapted to define an internal volume (3a) of the skirt (3);

a connection element (2) adapted to connect the drilling equipment (7) to the skirt (3), in such a way that the drilling equipment (7) partially extends in the internal volume (3a) of the skirt (3); and

a gas collecting system (4) adapted to collect gas contained in the internal volume (3a) of the skirt (3).

14. A method for collecting gas escaping from a drilled surface, the method comprising:

connecting (601 ) a drilling equipment (7) to a first end of a skirt (3), in such a way that a drill bit (8) of the drilling equipment (7) partially extends in an internal volume (3a) of the skirt (3);

placing (602) a second end of the skirt (3), opposite to the first end, against a surface (6) to be drilled;

drilling (603) the surface (6) with the drilling equipment (7); and

collecting (604) gas contained in the internal volume (3a) of the skirt (3).

15. The method of claim 14, wherein the surface (6) is drilled in a drilling direction (9) that is substantially perpendicular to a geological fault.

16. The method of claim 14, wherein the surface (6) is drilled in a drilling direction (9) that is substantially perpendicular to said surface (6).
