Claims:

1. A processing apparatus, comprising:

a sealable chamber, the chamber including at least:

a plurality of internal mixing blades; and

a gas connection configured for allowing passage of gas from the chamber;

a drive unit, configured to at least intermittently rotate the chamber;

a filter configured to filter the gas; and

a first gas storage tank configured to store the gas.

2. The apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising:

a second gas storage tank; and

a compressor connected to both the first gas storage tank and the second gas storage tank, the compressor configured to compress and transfer the gas from the first gas storage tank to the second gas storage tank.

3. The apparatus according to claim 2, further comprising a sensor configured to activate the compressor based at least on a volume of gas in the first gas storage tank.

4. The apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising:

a generator configured to burn the gas.

5. The apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising:

a generator configured to provide power to the drive unit.

6. The apparatus according to claim 1, the sealable chamber further comprising: a removable cover.

7. The apparatus according to claim 6, wherein the removable cover includes the gas connection.

8. The apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the sealable chamber is cylindrical.

9. The apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the internal mixing blades are attached to an inner surface of the chamber, and the internal mixing blades are configured to mix material in the chamber when the chamber is rotated.

10. The apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the filter is an activated carbon filter or a water bubble filter.

11. The apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising a control unit configured to cause activation of the drive unit.

12. The apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising a control unit configured to cause activation of a compressor.

13. The apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising a control unit configured to cause activation of a generator.

14. The apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising a control unit, the control unit receiving data representing at least one of: a temperature value inside the chamber, a temperature value outside the chamber, a gas flow rate, a moisture level of material inside the chamber, or a value representing volume of gas in the first gas storage tank.

15. The apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising at least one battery configured to provide power to the drive unit.

16. The apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising a support mount for the chamber configured to hold a rotational axis of the chamber at an inclined angle relative to a local earth surface.

17. A method for processing compostable material in a partially filled and closed chamber, the method comprising:

causing a drive unit to rotate the chamber intermittently, power for the drive unit at least partially provided by one or more batteries;

filtering gas produced from the compostable material to reduce contaminants; generating first data representing a volume of the gas in a first gas storage tank; based at least on the first data, causing a compressor to compress and transfer the gas to a second gas storage tank, power for the compressor at least partially provided by the one or more batteries; and

generating energy to charge the one or more batteries using some of the gas.

18. The method according to claim 17, further comprising causing a gas-powered generator to burn some of the gas to generate the energy to charge the one or more batteries.

19. An apparatus for processing compostable material, comprising:

a sealable drum chamber, the drum chamber including at least:

a plurality of internal inclined mixing blades;

a removable cover; and

a rotatable connection, the connection configured to allow passage of gas produced by decomposition of the compostable material;

a drive unit, configured to at least intermittently rotate the drum chamber, the rotation causing mixing of the compostable material;

a battery configured to provide power to the drive unit;

a filter configured to filter the gas and reduce contaminants;

a first low-pressure gas storage tank configured to store the filtered gas;

a second high-pressure gas storage tank;

a compressor configured to compress and transfer the filtered gas from the first low-pressure gas storage tank to the second high-pressure gas storage tank;

a generator configured to burn the gas and charge the battery; and

a control unit configured to at least one of: receive temperature data, receive gas flow rate data, cause activation of the drive unit, and cause activation of the compressor.

20. The apparatus according to claim 19, further comprising a support mount for the chamber configured to hold a rotational axis of the drum chamber at an inclined angle relative to a local earth surface.

21. The apparatus according to claim 20, wherein the inclined angle is between 0 and 90 degrees relative to a local earth surface.
