Claims

1. A method for laundering a textile comprising the steps of:

a) Contacting the textile with a wash liquor comprising a polypeptide having DNase activity and a surfactant; and

b) optionally rinsing the textile,

wherein the textile comprises at least 20% polyester.

2. Method according to claim 1 , wherein the textile further comprises cotton and/or wool.

3. Method according to any of claims 1 -2, wherein the textile comprises 50% polyester and 50% cotton, wherein the textile comprises between 30% and 90% polyester, such as between 30% and 90% polyester, between 30% and 95% polyester, between 30% and 80% polyester, between 30% and 70% polyester, between 30% and 60% polyester, between 30% and 50% polyester or between 30% and 40% polyester.

4. Method according to claim 1 , wherein the concentration of the polypeptide in the wash liquor is in the range of 0.00004-100 ppm enzyme protein, such as in the range of 0.00008-100, in the range of 0.0001 -100, in the range of 0.0002-100, in the range of 0.0004-100, in the range of 0.0008-100, in the range of 0.001 -100 ppm enzyme protein, in the range of 0.01-100 ppm enzyme protein, in the range of 0.05-50 ppm enzyme protein, in the range of 0.1-50 ppm enzyme protein, in the range of 0.1-30 ppm enzyme protein, in the range of 0.5-20 ppm enzyme protein or in the range of 0.5-10 ppm enzyme protein.

5. Use of a polypeptide having DNase activity for laundering a textile comprising at least 20% polyester.

6. Use according to claim 5, wherein the textile comprises at least 25% polyester, at least 30% polyester, at least 35% polyester, at least 40% polyester, at least 45% polyester, at least 50% polyester, at least 55% polyester, at least 60% polyester or at least 65% polyester.

7. Use according to any of claims 5 or 6, wherein the textile further comprises cotton and/or wool.

8. Use according to any of claims 5-7, wherein redeposition is prevented and/or reduced.

9. Use according to any of the preceding use claims, wherein the whiteness of the textile is improved.

A detergent composition comprising a polypeptide having deoxyribonuclease (DNase) activity and at least one non-ionic surfactant.

Composition according to claim 10, wherein the non-ionic surfactant is selected from the group consisting of alcohol ethoxylates (AE or AEO), alcohol propoxylates, propoxylated fatty alcohols (PFA), alkoxylated fatty acid alkyl esters, such as ethoxylated and/or propoxylated fatty acid alkyl esters, alkylphenol ethoxylates (APE), nonylphenol ethoxylates (NPE), alkylpolyglycosides (APG), alkoxylated amines, fatty acid monoethanolamides (FAM), fatty acid diethanolamides (FADA), ethoxylated fatty acid monoethanolamides (EFAM), propoxylated fatty acid monoethanolamides (PFAM), polyhydroxyalkyl fatty acid amides and A/-acyl A/-alkyl derivatives of glucosamine (glucamides, GA, or fatty acid glucamides, FAGA).

Composition according to any of claims 10-11 , wherein the composition further comprises one or more enzymes selected from the group consisting of hemicellulases, peroxidases, proteases, cellulases, xylanases, lipases, phospholipases, esterases, cutinases, pectinases, mannanases, lyase, pectate lyases, keratinases, reductases, oxidases, phenoloxidases, lipoxygenases, ligninases, pullulanases, tannases, pentosanases, malanases, β-glucanases, arabinosidases, hyaluronidase, chondroitinase, laccase, chlorophyllases, amylases, perhydrolases, peroxidases and xanthanase.

13. Composition according to any of claims 10-12, wherein the polypeptide having DNase activity is of animal, vegetable or microbial origin.

14. Composition according to claim 13, wherein the polypeptide is of bacterial or fungal origin.

15. Composition according to claim 14, wherein the polypeptide having DNase activity is selected from the group consisting of a polypeptide having at least 60% sequence identity to the polypeptide of SEQ ID NO: 1 , a polypeptide having at least 60% sequence identity to the polypeptide of SEQ ID NO: 2, a polypeptide having at least 60% sequence identity to the polypeptide of SEQ ID NO: 3, a polypeptide having at least 60% sequence identity to the polypeptide of SEQ ID NO: 4, a polypeptide having at least 60% sequence identity to the polypeptide of SEQ ID NO: 5 and a polypeptide having at least 60% sequence identity to the polypeptide of SEQ ID NO: 6.
