CLAIMS

1 . A method performed in a wireless communication network, the method

comprising:

-obtaining (401 , 501 ) an accumulated uplink interference for a time period, Ti, over a frequency spectrum associated with an uplink communication channel of the wireless communication network; and -dividing (403, 503) the frequency spectrum into at least a first and a second range based on characteristics of the obtained accumulated interference; and

-applying (405, 505) different rules for allocation of resources to wireless devices for uplink communication in the channel in the first and second range.

2. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the dividing into at least a first and a second range is performed when a first type of pattern over frequency is detected (402, 502) in the obtained accumulated interference.

3. The method according to claim 2, wherein the first type of pattern is detected

(402, 502) based on analysis of changes in the accumulated interference between spectrum edge and spectrum center.

4. The method according to any of claims 1 -3, wherein the division (403, 503) into ranges is performed at frequencies or resource blocks (RB_n) where the accumulated interference meets a threshold.

5. The method according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the first range is associated with a lower accumulated interference than the second range.

6. The method according to any of the preceding claims wherein the frequency spectrum is divided into 2 or 3 ranges.

7. The method according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the

accumulated interference is measured over a time period Ti which has a duration of at least:

-15 minutes;

-1 hour; or

-5 hours

8. The method according to any of the preceding claims, further comprising:

-obtaining an accumulated uplink interference for a time period, Tj+X over the frequency spectrum; and

-updating the division of the spectrum into at least a first and a second range based on the characteristics of the accumulated uplink interference for the time period, Ti+X

9. The method according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the rules for allocating resources comprises that wireless devices are allocated resources for uplink communication in the first range at a first load level of the network.

10. The method according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the rules for allocating resources comprises that wireless devices associated with a pathloss exceeding a threshold are allocated resources for uplink communication in the first range at a second load level.

1 1 . The method according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the rules for allocating resources comprises that wireless devices associated with a pathloss below a threshold are allocated resources for uplink

communication in the second range at a second load level.

12. The method according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the wireless communication network is an indoor network.

13. The method according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the wireless communication network applies Frequency Division Duplexing FDD.

14. The method according to any of the preceding claims wherein the wireless communication network applies Orthogonal Frequency Division

Multiplexing, OFDM.

15. A network node (900) operable in a wireless communication network, being configured to:

-obtain an accumulated uplink interference for a time period, Ti, over a frequency spectrum associated with an uplink communication channel of the wireless communication network; and to

-divide the frequency spectrum into at least a first and a second range based on characteristics of the obtained accumulated interference; and to

-apply different rules for allocation of resources to wireless devices for uplink communication in the channel in the first and second range.

16. The network node according to claim 15, being configured to divide the frequency spectrum into at least a first and a second range when a first type of pattern over frequency is detected in the obtained accumulated interference.

17. The network node according to claim 16, being configured to detect the first type of pattern based on analysis of changes in the accumulated

interference between spectrum edge and spectrum center.

18. The network node according to any of claims 15-17, being configured to perform the division into ranges at frequencies or resource blocks where the accumulated interference meets a threshold.

19. The network node according to any of claims 15-18, wherein the first range is associated with a lower accumulated interference than the second range.

20. The network node according to any of claims 15-19, being configured to divide the frequency spectrum into 2 or 3 ranges.

21 . The network node according to any of claims 15-20, wherein the

accumulated interference is measured over a time period Ti which has a duration of at least:

-15 minutes;

-1 hour; or

-5 hours

The network node according to any of claims 15-21 , being further configured to:

-obtain an accumulated uplink interference for a time period, Tj+X over the frequency spectrum; and to

-update the division of the spectrum into at least a first and a second range based on the characteristics of the accumulated uplink interference for the time period, Ti+X

The network node according to any of claims 15-22, wherein the rules for allocating resources comprises that wireless devices are allocated resources for uplink communication in the first range at a first load level of the network.

The network node according to any of claims 15-23, wherein the rules for allocating resources comprises that wireless devices associated with a pathloss exceeding a threshold are allocated resources for uplink communication in the first range at a second load level.

The network node according to any of claims 15-24, wherein the rules for allocating resources comprises that wireless devices associated with a pathloss below a threshold are allocated resources for uplink

communication in the second range at a second load level.

The network node according to any of claims 15-25, being an indoor network.

The network node according to any of claims 15-26, wherein the network node applies Frequency Division Duplexing, FDD.

The network node according to any of claims 15-27 wherein the wireless communication network applies OFDM.

29. An arrangement (900) operable in a wireless communication network, being configured to:

-obtain an accumulated uplink interference for a time period, Ti, over a frequency spectrum associated with an uplink communication channel of the wireless communication network; and to

-divide the frequency spectrum into at least a first and a second range based on characteristics of the obtained accumulated interference; and to

-apply different rules for allocation of resources to wireless devices for uplink communication in the channel in the first and second range.

30. The arrangement according to claim 29, being configured to divide the

frequency spectrum into at least a first and a second range when a first type of pattern over frequency is detected in the obtained accumulated interference.

31 . The arrangement according to claim 30, being configured to detect the first type of pattern based on analysis of changes in the accumulated

interference between spectrum edge and spectrum center.

32. The arrangement according to any of claims 29-31 , being configured to perform the division into ranges at frequencies or resource blocks where the accumulated interference meets a threshold.

33. The arrangement according to any of claims 29-32, wherein the first range is associated with a lower accumulated interference than the second range.

34. The arrangement according to any of claims 29-33, being configured to divide the frequency spectrum into 2 or 3 ranges.

35. The arrangement according to any of claims 29-34, wherein the

accumulated interference is measured over a time period Ti which has a duration of at least:

-15 minutes;

-1 hour; or

-5 hours

36. The arrangement according to any of claims 29-35, being further configured to:

-obtain an accumulated uplink interference for a time period, Tj+X over the frequency spectrum; and to

-update the division of the spectrum into at least a first and a second range based on the characteristics of the accumulated uplink interference for the time period, Ti+X

37. The arrangement according to any of claims 29-36, wherein the rules for allocating resources comprises that wireless devices are allocated resources for uplink communication in the first range at a first load level of the network.

38. The arrangement according to any of claims 29-37, wherein the rules for allocating resources comprises that wireless devices associated with a pathloss exceeding a threshold are allocated resources for uplink communication in the first range at a second load level.

39. The arrangement according to any of claims 29-38, wherein the rules for allocating resources comprises that wireless devices associated with a pathloss below a threshold are allocated resources for uplink

communication in the second range at a second load level.

40. The arrangement according to any of claims 29-39, being an indoor

network.

41 . The arrangement according to any of claims 29-40, wherein the wireless communication network applies FDD.

42. The arrangement according to any of claims 29-41 wherein the wireless communication network applies OFDM.

Computer program, comprising instructions which, when executed on at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to carry out the method according to any of claims 1 -14.

A carrier containing the computer program of the preceding claim, wherein the carrier is one of an electronic signal, optical signal, radio signal, or computer readable storage medium.
