CLAIMS

1. Street lighting comprising a fixture (10) which is attachable to a lamppost (12), wherein the fixture (10) extends in the direction of a central fixture axis (La), wherein the fixture comprises:

• a proximal housing part (14) which is provided with attachment

means for attachment of the proximal housing part to a lamppost;

• at least one intermediary housing part (16) which on a proximal side is provided with attachment means for connection of the intermediary housing part (16) to the proximal housing part (14) or to another, proximally located intermediary housing part (16), wherein the attachment means comprise at least one stub (18, 18'), wherein the at least one stub, viewed in proximal direction, tapers;

• a distal housing part (20) which on a proximal side is provided with attachment means for connection of the distal housing part (20) to an intermediary housing part (16), wherein the attachment means comprise at least one stub (22, 22');

wherein

• the at least one stub (22, 22') of the distal housing part (20) is

designed in the same way as the at least one tapering stub (18, 18') of the at least one intermediary housing part (16);

wherein

• the proximal housing part (14) and the or each intermediary housing part (16) on a distal side thereof are provided with a mounting (44, 44', 38, 38') in which the at least one tapering stub (18, 18') of an intermediary housing part (16) or the at least one tapering stub (22, 22') of the distal housing part (20) are received;

and wherein

• the number of intermediary housing parts (16) of the fixture (10) is variable and depends on the application of the fixture (10).

2. The street lighting according to claim 1, wherein with each intermediary housing part (16) an intermediary electrical connector assembly (46) is associated, which is so designed that the mechanical coupling of two intermediary housing parts (16) simultaneously establishes desired electrical connections between the two intermediary electrical connector assemblies (46).

3. The street lighting according to claim 1 or 2, wherein each intermediary housing part (16) comprises:

• a top wall (26) which extends substantially parallel to the central fixture axis (La);

· two opposite lateral walls (28, 28') which extend substantially parallel to the central fixture axis (La);

• a proximal wall (30) which extends substantiaUy perpendicularly to the central fixture axis (La);

• a distal wall (32) which extends substantially perpendicularly to the central fixture axis (La);

• a chamber (34) which is bounded at an upper side, the lateral sides and the proximal and distal sides by, respectively, the top wall (26), the lateral sidewalls (28, 28'), the proximal wall (30) and the distal wall (32);

wherein

• the at least one tapering stub (18, 18') is hollow and extends from the proximal wall (30) in proximal direction and has a central stub axis (Ls, Ls');

• at least one proximal wall opening (36, 36'), each proximal wall

opening (36, 36') having a center that is on the central stub axis (Ls, Ls') of the stub (18, 18') associated with the respective proximal wall opening (36, 36'), so that each proximal wall opening (36, 36') is collinear with the associated stub (18, 18');

at least one distal wall opening (38, 38'), forming said mounting of the intermediary housing part (16), each distal wall opening (38, 38') having a center which is on the stub axis (Ls, Ls') of the stub (18, 18') associated with the respective distal wall opening (38, 38'), so that each distal wall opening (38, 38') is collinear with the associated stub (18, 18'), the diameter of each distal wall opening (38, 38') being such that, in an assembled condition of the fixture (10), the at least one stub (18, 18') of a distally located intermediary housing part (16), or the at least one stub (22, 22') of the distal housing part (20), is fittingly received therein.

4. The street lighting according to claim 3, wherein the at least one tapering stub of the distal housing part (20) comprises two tapering stubs (22, 22'), wherein the distal housing part comprises:

• a bridge part (40) with which the two stubs (22, 22') are connected; wherein

· the two tapering stubs (22, 22') are of hollow design and extend from the bridge part (40) in proximal direction and each have a central stub axis (Ls), the two hollow stubs (22, 22') being fittingly received in two distal wall openings (38, 38') of a proximally located intermediary housing part (16).

5. The street lighting according to claim 3 or 4, wherein the at least one tapering stub of the distal part and of the at least one intermediary part comprises two tapering stubs, wherein the proximal housing part (14) comprises:

· a bridge part (42);

• two distal openings (44, 44') in the bridge part (42) which form said mounting (44, 44') of the proximal housing part (14), the two distal openings (44, 44') being collinear with the hollow tapering stubs (18, 18') of the intermediary housing part (16) located distally of the proximal housing part (14), said stubs (18, 18') being fittingly received in these two distal openings (44, 44') in an assembled condition of the fixture (10).

6. The street lighting according to any one of claims 3-5 when depending from claim 2, wherein the or each intermediary connector assembly (46) comprises:

• an intermediary connector housing (48) which has a central connector axis (Lc) which is collinear with one of the stub axes (Ls) of the corresponding intermediary housing part (16) and is substantially received in the respective stub (18) in an assembled condition of the fixture (10);

• a proximal intermediary connector (50) which is at a proximal end of the connector housing (48) and substantially extends in a plane that is perpendicular to the central connector axis (Lc);

· a distal intermediary connector (52) which is at a distal end of the intermediary connector housing (48) and substantially extends in a plane that is perpendicular to the central connector axis (Lc); and

• a lateral intermediary connector (54) which is at a lateral side of the connector housing (48) and which in assembled condition of the fixture (10) is in the chamber (34) of the corresponding intermediary housing part (16).

7. The street lighting according to claim 6, wherein in the proximal housing part (14) a proximal connector assembly (56) is included, wherein the proximal connector assembly (56) comprises a distal connector which

substantially extends in a plane which is perpendicular to the central fixture axis (La) and which is configured for connection to a proximal intermediary connector (50).

The street lighting according to claim 7, wherein the proximal intermediary connector (50) is provided with a number of proximal electrically conductive contacts (60), wherein the distal intermediary connector (52) is provided with a number of distal electrically conductive contacts (62), wherein the distal connector of the proximal connector assembly (56) is provided with a number of distal electrically conductive contacts, wherein in an assembled condition of the fixture (10) the proximal electrically conductive contacts (60) of a distally positioned intermediary housing part (16) are connected to the distal electrically conductive contacts (62) of a neighboring, proximally positioned, intermediary connector assembly (46) or to the distal electrically conductive contacts of the neighboring, proximally positioned proximal connector assembly.

The street lighting according to any one of claims 6-8, wherein in assembled condition of the fixture (10) the connector housing (48) of an intermediary connector assembly (46) is substantially received in a stub (18) of the corresponding intermediary housing part (16), the proximal intermediary connector (50) being located proximally of the proximal end of the respective stub (18) and the distal intermediary connector (52) being located distally of the proximal wall part (30) of the intermediary housing part (16) in the chamber (34) of the intermediary housing part (16).

10. The street lighting according to any one of claims 6-8, wherein each assembly of an intermediary housing part (16) with intermediary connector assembly (46) includes:

• a locking bolt (66) with a locking bolt axis (Lb), having at a first free end a bolt head (68) and at a second free end a locking arm (70) which extends substantially perpendicularly to the locking bolt axis (Lb); wherein each intermediary housing part (16) and the proximal housing part (14) are each provided with a locking cam (72) which is configured for engagement by the locking arm (70) of an assembly of an intermediary housing part (16) with intermediary connector assembly (46) that is located distally of the respective housing part (14, 16).

The street lighting according to claim 10, wherein each locking bolt (66), in an assembled condition of the fixture (10), extends through a bore in the associated intermediary connector assembly (46), whereby the locking bolt (66) in the locking position engages via the locking arm (70) a proximal side of the locking cam (72), while the bolt head (68) engages a distal side of the intermediary connector housing (48), such that with the locking bolt (66) the connector assembly (46) is fixed in the associated intermediary housing part (16) and the respective intermediary housing part (16) is secured to a proximally located, intermediary housing part (16) or to the proximally located, proximal housing part (14).

12. The street lighting according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the attachment means for attachment of the proximal housing part to a lamppost comprise a bracket (74), wherein the street lighting further comprises:

· a coupling part (76) comprising:

o a first end (78) connectable with a lamppost (12); and o a second end (80) connectable with the bracket (74), the bracket (74) and the second end (80) being so configured as to allow, during assembly, the proximal housing part (14) to be pivoted

relative to the coupling part (76) about a horizontal axis (Z), so that the fixture (10) can be fixed in a desired pivotal position.

13. The street lighting according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein in at least one intermediary housing part (16) an LED hghting assembly is included.

14. The street lighting according to claim 13, wherein in a chamber (34) of at least one intermediary housing part (16) or in a chamber (82) in the proximal housing part (14), at least one of the following devices is included:

• a power module;

• a sensor assembly;

• a camera assembly;

· a loudspeaker assembly;

• a wireless transmitter/receiver assembly; and

• a control module configured for control of devices included in the fixture and for control of an LED lighting assembly included in the fixture.
