CLAIMS

1. A method of wireless communication by a base station, comprising;

identifying one or more anchor subframes in a frame;

configuring a user equipment (UE) to wake up while in a discontinuous reception (DRX) mode and monitor for a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) in the one or more anchor subframes, and

signaling a change in an uplink/downlink configuration of subframes in the frame to the UE in the one or more anchor subframes via the PDCCH.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the UE is also configured to monitor for the PDCCH in one or more non-anchor subframes.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the configuring comprises specifying one or more DRX parameters selected to cause the UE to wake up in the anchor subframe while in the DRX mode to monitor for the PDDCH.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the signaling comprises repeating transmission of the PDCCH indicating the change in configuration in at least two downlink anchor subframes.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the anchor subframes comprise subframes that are downlink subframes regardless of the uplink/downlink configuration,

6. A method of wireless communications by a base station, comprising:

identifying anchor subframes in a frame;

configuring the UE with one or more discontinuous reception (DRX) parameters that define one or more DRX timers;

configuring the UE to update the DRX timers based on the anchor subframes only; and

signaling a change in an uplink/downlink configuration of subframes in the frame to the UE in the one or more anchor subframe via a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH).

7. The method of claim 6, wherein the UE is also configured to monitor for the PDCCH for data transmission in one or more non-anchor subframes,

8. The method of claim 6, wherein the signaling comprises repeating transmission of the PDCCH indicating the change in configuration in at least two downlink anchor subframes.

9. The method of claim 6, wherein:

the one or more DRX timers includes at least one of onDurationTimer, drx-InactivityTimer, drxRetransmissionTimer, or any combination thereof; and

if the UE wakes up in a subframe after the signaling, scheduling UE DL transmissions only in anchor subframes for one frame.

10. The method of claim 9, wherein the OnDurationTimer is at least 3ms,

1 1 . A method of wireless communication by a user equipment, comprising:

identifying one or more anchor subframes in a frame;

receiving a configuration to wake up while in a discontinuous reception (DRX) mode and monitor for a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) in the one or more anchor subframes; and

detecting signaling of a change in an uplink/downlink configuration of subframes in the frame to the UE in the one or more anchor subframes via the PDCCH.

12. The method of claim 11, further comprising receiving configuration to monitor for the PDCCH in one or more non-anchor subframes.

13. The method of claim 11, wherein the signaling comprises a repeated transmission of the PDCCH indicating the change in configuration in at least two downlink anchor subframes.

14. A method for wireless communications by a user equipment, comprising:

identifying one or more anchor subframes in a frame;

receiving a configuration comprising one or more DRX parameters that define one or more discontinuous reception (DRX) timers; and

updating the DRX timers based on the one or more anchor subframes only; and detecting signaling of a change in an uplink/downlink configuration of subframes in the frame to the LIE in the one or more anchor subframes via a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH).

15. The method of claim 14, further monitoring for the PDCCH for data transmission in one or more non-anchor subframes.

16. The method of claim 14. wherein:

the one or more DRX timers comprise at least one of onDurationTimer, drx-Inactivity Timer, drxRetransmissionTimer, or any combination thereof.

17. A method of wireless communication by a user equipment (UE), comprising: entering a discontinuous reception (DRX) mode, based on a DRX configuration; and

waking up one or more subframes prior to an active state defined by the configuration to monitor for a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) indicating a change to an uplink/downlink configuration of subframes.

18. The method of claim 17, further comprising maintaining one or more DRX timers based on a change to uplink/downlink configuration after waking up in the active state.

19. The method of claim 18, wherein the DRX timers comprises at least one of onDurationTimer, InactivityTimer, and drx-RetransmissionTimer.

20. The method of claim 17, wherein the uplink/downlink configuration of the subframes comprises a Time Division Duplex (TDD) Uplink-Downlink configuration.

21. The method of claim 17, further comprising determining how many subframes prior to the active state to wake up to monitor for the PDCCH.
