A method for making an article of footwear is disclosed. The method can include a number of steps where various molds are used to attach or mold a tread element onto a substrate or matrix lining. The tread element can be formed by compressing a rubber block between various molding members to liquefy and cause the resulting rubber material to flow into at least one lug cavity disposed near the matrix lining. The rubber material eventually enters the lug cavity and becomes attached to the matrix lining.

L'invention concerne un procédé de fabrication d'article chaussant, ledit procédé pouvant comprendre un certain nombre d'étapes où divers moules sont utilisés pour fixer ou mouler un élément de semelle sur un substrat ou une doublure de matrice. L'élément de semelle peut être formé en comprimant un bloc de caoutchouc entre divers éléments de moulage afin de liquéfier le matériau caoutchouteux et l'amener ainsi à s'écouler dans au moins une cavité à ergots disposée près de la doublure de matrice. Le matériau caoutchouteux finit par pénétrer dans la cavité à ergots et se fixe à la doublure de matrice.
