A method attributes credit (802) for conversions to a plurality of event types. A plurality of probabilities that a single impression of each of a plurality of respective event types causes a conversion by one of a plurality of users are defined (804). A processor is used to select values for the plurality of probabilities so as to minimize a total squared error (806) based on differences between an observed outcome for each user and a respective expected outcome for each user calculated from the plurality of probabilities (808).

L'invention concerne un procédé d'attribution de crédit pour des conversions à une pluralité de types d'événements. On définit une pluralité de probabilités selon lesquelles une impression unique de chacun des types d'un ensemble de plusieurs types d'événements respectifs entraîne une conversion à l'initiative d'un utilisateur figurant parmi plusieurs utilisateurs. On utilise un processeur pour sélectionner des valeurs correspondant aux probabilités de manière à réduire au minimum une erreur quadratique moyenne totale d'après les différences entre un résultat observé et un résultat attendu correspondant pour chaque utilisateur, sur la base d'un calcul effectué d'après les probabilités.
