An acrylic composite fiber which comprises 10 to 40 wt % of cellulose acetate and/or cellulose, 60 to 90 wt % of an acrylonitrile based polymer and has a fiber structure wherein in a cross section perpendicular to the fiber axis, the component of cellulose acetate and/or cellulose forms an island component and the component of an acrylonitrile based polymer forms a sea component. The acrylic composite fiber has a new feeling different from that of a conventional cellulose acetate fiber, a cellulose fiber or an acrylonitrile based fiber, is excellent in spinability, physical properties as a fiber and the capability of passing through a spinning process, and also is excellent in functionality, especially in deodorizing function and moisture absorption and retention. The moisture absorption and retention is improved by a heat treatment under an alkaline condition in the production process of the fiber.

L'invention concerne une fibre composite acrylique qui contient 10 à 40 % en poids d'acétate de cellulose et/ou de cellulose, et 60 à 90 % en poids d'un polymère à base d'acrylonitrile. Cette fibre possède une structure dans laquelle, dans une section transversale perpendiculaire à l'axe de la fibre, la composante d'acétate de cellulose et/ou d'acétate forme une composante île, et la composante de polymère à base d'acrylonitrile forme une composante mer. Cette fibre composite acrylique présente une nouvelle texture différente de celle d'une fibre d'acétate de cellulose, de cellulose ou à base d'acrylonitrile conventionnelle, et possède d'excellentes propriétés physiques, de filature, ainsi que la capacité de supporter un processus de filature. Elle possède également une excellente fonctionnalité, plus spécifiquement en ce qui concerne la fonction de désodorisation, ainsi que d'absorption et de rétention de l'humidité. La fonction d'absorption et de rétention de l'humidité est améliorée par un traitement thermique dans des conditions alcalines durant le processus de production de la fibre.
