In a DSM-CC receiver (12), a signal comprising a periodically repeated plurality of data sections is received. Storage means (14) is provided for caching the data sections included in the signal, and said storage means incorporates a file management mechanism based on file names. Each data section is received (100) under a corresponding file name, and the received file names are modified (140) within the receiver to distinguish between previous or subsequent versions of the same data sections of the signal that are stored in said storage means. Files currently in use are not overwritten, but are marked (135) for later deletion (155). Individual files can be extracted from DSM-CC modules and cache. In this case, individual file names are modified by reference to version information received for the module as a whole.

On reçoit au moyen d'un récepteur DSM-CC (12) un signal comprenant plusieurs sections de données répétées périodiquement. Un support de stockage (14) sert à mettre en mémoire cache les sections de données contenues dans le signal; le support de stockage comprend un mécanisme de gestion de fichiers basé sur le nom des fichiers. Chaque section de données est reçue (100) sous un nom de fichier correspondant, et les noms de fichiers reçus sont modifiés (140) par le récepteur de manière à distinguer les versions précédentes ou suivantes des sections identiques de données du signal qui sont stockées sur ce support de stockage. Les fichiers actuellement utilisés ne sont pas recouverts mais sont marqués (135) pour être ensuite effacés (155). Les fichiers individuels peuvent être extraits à partir des modules DSM-CC et de la mémoire cache. Dans ce cas, les noms de fichiers individuels sont modifiés par référence aux informations de version reçues pour le module en entier.
