The inorganic adhesive (26) preferably comprises a sol-gel, such a colloidal suspension of sodium silicate, that creates bondlines between adjacent optical fibers (12) that are less than about 200nm in thickness.

La présente invention concerne un ensemble de fibres optiques (10) comprenant une pluralité de fibres optiques liées les unes aux autres à l'aide d'un adhésif inorganique (26) présentant une température de transition vitreuse d'au moins environ 150 °C. L'adhésif inorganique (26) comprend de préférence un sol-gel, tel qu'une suspension colloïdale de silicate de sodium, qui crée des plans de joint entre des fibres optiques adjacentes (12) qui présentent une épaisseur inférieure à environ 200 nm.
