Device and method for applying shaving cream or gel in shaving

TECHNICAL FIELD

The present invention relates to shaving devices, in particular to the devices, by means of which shaving cream or gel is applied to the face or to the part of the body being shaved.

BACKGROUND ART

All kind of solutions for applying shaving cream or gel to the face from an aerosol, a tube, etc. by mean of brush are already known. For example, the USA patent No. 3981597, 21.09.1976, discloses a nozzle, provided with brushes, which is fastened to the top of a shaving cream aerosol, and where, by pressing the nozzle, foam moves from the aerosol to the brushes, and is thereafter spread over the face. However all people cannot use a brush for applying and spreading shaving cream or gel because the skin, first of all the skin of the face, is very sensitive to external irritants. Therefore, they have to apply shaving cream or gel to the face with fingers, which often makes shaving an inconvenient and unpleasant process. In this way, remarkably more shaving cream or gel is used because some of it is just washed off from the hands and this, in brief, causes more costs for buying shaving cream or gel. A common deficiency of such devices is also that their construction is too complicated and cumbersome for use.

The published patent "application WO98/56544, 17.12.1998 discloses a shaving device, in the handle of which an aerosol with shaving cream or gel is placed. For spreading shaving cream or gel on the face, a plate is used, into which ducts are made to convey foam or gel from aerosol to the surface of the plate. This document also describes an opportunity to place a plate, which is supplied with an adhesive tape, to the existing shaving devices. The deficiency of the above solution is the intricacy of the construction and the existence of sharp edges of the plate, which may cause for people with baggy or wrinkled face inconveniences while applying shaving cream or gel. Whereas shaving razors wear out, if used, then the service life of a plate, which belongs to the same construction with them, is limited to the duration of the use of shaving razors.

DISCLOSURE OF INVENTION

The object of this invention is to create a device which due to its simple, convenient and autonomous structure would enable a fast application and spreading of aerosol shaving cream layer or gel layer in shaving, whereby the formed layer is uniform, smooth, and of required thickness. The object is also to create a device, which does not irritate the skin of the face, because it does not have the natural or synthetic hair (bristles) like brushes, therefore the device does not come into direct contact with the skin of the face, but glides on the surface of shaving cream or gel layer instead. A device according to the invention can be used for the application of shaving cream or gel in shaving other parts of the body as well.

The object of the invention is primarily achieved by the fact that the working surface, for what can be for example the plate for applying and spreading shaving cream or gel on the face in the process of shaving is, in principle, made of oval or round shape, with all corners and edges rounded, so that even people with a baggy and wrinkled face do not perceive unpleasant sensations while applying and spreading shaving cream or gel to the skin by means of the plate. Also the working surface can be made from the membrane attached to the base. The opposite surface of the working surface can be represented as the handle with the cavities for the fingers of users or the handle is formed by the part extending from the opposite surface of the working surface while the plate and the handle is formed as one piece. Also the handle may be manufactured as separate part wherein with the opposite surface of the working surface will be connected by means of elastic, threaded or the like articulation, which can be for example the pint joint or click articulation. To the working surface a special surface layer can also be applied in order to facilitate the fastening (sticking) of shaving cream or gel to the plate. The device will be manufactured separately from the shaving instrument, so the essential benefit of using the device autonomously and for a long time, will be achieved.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS

A device conforming to the invention is described by an embodiment model of the invention given below together with references to the accompanying drawings, where: - Fig. 1 shows the main construction of the embodiment of the device according to the invention;

- Fig. 2 shows embodiment of the device according to the invention where the working surface is formed as a membrane,

- Fig. 3 shows embodiment of the device according to the invention where the handle is formed as cavities in the opposite surface of the working surface,

- Fig. 4 shows one the possible embodiments of handle corresponding to the invention.

The device represented in fig. 1 comprises from the working surface 1, formed in the one side of the plate 2 wherein in the preferred embodiment the working surface 1 with the plate 2 is formed as one piece, and handle 4. In the embodiment showed in fig. 1 the handle 4 is made of the same piece as plate 2, and is connected to the opposite surface 3 of the working surface 1 and is placed at an angle of about 70-90° in relation to working surface 1. The working surface 1 and also the plate 2 with it may be in different shapes, preferably round or oval. The diameter of working surface 1 is preferably 20 to 100 mm, in the preferred embodiment approximately 60 mm. The thickness of the plate 2 is up to 15 mm, in the preferred embodiment 7-8 mm, although other suitable dimensions are not ruled out either. In order to better follow the shape of a human's face, the surface of the plate may be made concave, wherein the distance of the bottom point of the concave profile in the cross section from the line connecting the edges of the working surface can be up to 5 mm. Also the working surface can be manufactured as membrane 5 showed in the fig. 2, wherein the membrane 5 will be connected to the edges of the hollow base 6 thus made possible bending into the hollow base 6 to follow the shape of the users face.

The corners and edges of working surface 1 and plate 2 are rounded to avoid the plate getting caught behind the folds of the skin while applying shaving cream or gel.

According to one embodiment of the device showed in the fig. 3 the handle is formed in the side of the plate connected to the working surface as the cavities, that makes possible to the users to lay hold of the plate.

In the embodiment of the device in fig. 4, the handle 4 is connected to the plate by an articulation 7, which, for instance, can be a click articulation. This solution enables to manufacture compact devices, which is, for example, especially important for people who travel, as it makes possible to save space. Also the handle may be connected to the plate with the elastic articulation.

During the use of the device shaving cream or gel is pressed onto the plate and thereafter spread on the face, whereby a uniform, smooth and suitably thick layer of shaving cream or gel will be formed on the skin, which facilitates shaving. While applying the shaving cream or gel the device does not come into direct contact with the skin, but glides on the surface of shaving cream or gel layer being between the skin and shaving cream or gel layer. Also the reduced amount of time spent in shaving, good washability of the device, disinfectability, if necessary, a simple technological embodiment, conformity to health protection requirements, long service life, convenience at use both in a bathroom and on a trip are also the benefits of the device, whereby the device makes shaving with a razor a civilized and emotionally pleasant act.

In the selection of materials, above all the material of the plate, the only restrictions are those provided by health protection requirements, for example materials that come into contact with the surface of the skin, must be non-allergenic and non-pyrogenic.

The use of the instrument conforming to this invention is not limited to applying shaving cream or gel in shaving as depicted in the embodiment model, but it can also be used for applying and spreading shaving cream or gel for in shaving other parts of the body.

Neither is the invention limited to the above embodiment models, it may be made with structures different from those given, as a result of the unified inventive idea expressed in the utility patent claim.
