Une station centrale traite un flux de bits SDTI qui est reçu en provenance d'un site (non représenté) par l'intermédiaire d'un satellite (3811) par un dispositif de décodage SDTI (385), un dispositif de décodage MPEG (387), un premier système d'édition (389), un dispositif de codage MPEG (373), etc. sous la commande d'un ordinateur (371) de réseau, convertit le flux de bits traité en un flux de bits SDTI à l'aide d'un codeur SDTI (374), multiplexe le flux de bits à l'aide d'une unité de multiplexage (375) et le transmet à des stations locales par l'intermédiaire d'un satellite (3812).
