WHAT IS CLAIMED IS:

1. In a terminal of the type having a spine with an axis extending tlierethrough, at least one pair of ribs extending from the spine, each of the ribs being angled with respect to the axis of the spine and each having an end thereon, the ribs being bent such that the free ends thereof are proximal to each other thereby to define a rib cage structure generally enclosing a pin receiving opening, the pin receiving opening being adapted to receive a pin therein, the improvement comprising:

a surface on each of the ribs, the surfaces cooperating with each other to define a lead-in for a pin insertable into the pin receiving opening in the rib cage.

2. The terminal of claim 1 wherein the terminal has an input end thereon, and wherein the ribs are inclined from the spine away from the input end of the terminal.

3. The terminal of claim 2 wherein the ribs each have a tab thereon, each of the surfaces being disposed on each tab.

4. The terminal of claim 1 wherein the ribs each have a tab thereon, one of the surfaces being disposed on each tab.

5. The terminal of claim 1 wherein the terminal has an input end thereon, and wherein the ribs are inclined from the spine toward the input end of the terminal.

6. The terminal of claim 5 wherein the surfaces are planar.

The terminal of claim 4 wherein the surfaces are planar.

8. The terminal of claim 3 wherein the surfaces are planar.

9. The terminal of claim 2 wherein the surfaces are planar.

10. The terminal of claim 1 wherein the surfaces are planar.

11. A connector comprising:

a housing, the housing having a cavity therein; and

a terminal disposed in the cavity of the housing, the terminal being of the type having a spine with an axis extending therethrough, at least one pair of ribs extending from the spine, each of the ribs being angled with respect to the axis of the spine and each having an end thereon, the ribs being bent such that the free ends thereof are proximal to each other thereby to define a rib cage structure generally enclosing a pin receiving opening, the pin receiving opening being adapted to receive a pin therein, the terminal also having a surface on each of the ribs, the surfaces cooperating with each other to define a lead-in for a pin insertable into the cavity of the housing and into the opening in the rib cage.

12. The connector of claim 11 wherein the terminal has an input end thereon, and wherein the ribs are inclined from the spine away from the input end of the terminal.

13. The connector of claim 12 wherein the ribs each have a tab thereon, each of the surfaces being disposed on each tab.

14. The connector of claim 11 wherein the ribs each have a tab thereon, one of the surfaces being disposed on each tab.

15. The connector of claim 11 wherein the terminal has an input end thereon, and wherein the ribs are inclined from the spine toward the input end of the terminal.

16. The connector of claim 15 wherein the surfaces are planar.

17. The connector of claim 14 wherein the surfaces are planar.

18. The connector of claim 13 wherein the surfaces are planar.

19. The connector of claim 12 wherein the surfaces are planar.

20. The connector of claim 11 wherein the surfaces are planar.
