Key-lock combination

My invention, a key-lock combination, can be used as a lock for cars, doors, boxes, mechanical equipment and several other objects. The lock is entirely mechanical.
My lock, the key of which has a cylindrical shank measuring 6 mm in diameter and 30 mm in length, has 30 tumblers. Each tumbler has two positions. The tumblers either contacts the even surface of the key or the upper part of a hemispherical boss. Hence it follows that there are 2 30 possible combinations, in other words over one thousand million possibilities.
The lock key (part 1) is made by casting or forging, t shank being provided with hemispherical or conical bosses.

The lock plug (part 2) consists of a tube, manufacture from a profiled material, whose inner surface is provided with grooves corresponding to the key shank shape. The plug has drilled holes for the tumblers. Preferably the holes are arranged at different distances on the plug, in order to make the assembling of the lock easier and to reduce the force necessary for inserting the key.
The lock cylinder (part 3) consists of a metallic or plastic tube, provided with drilled holes for the tumblers and the springs.
The outer sleeve (part 7) keeps the tumblers and the springs within the lock. The sleeve is atLached to the cylinder by screws or pins.
The tumblers consist of cylindrical plungers (part 4 an 5) provided with conical or rounded end parts.
The tumbler spring force should be found out by the manufacturer by experimentation, in order to avoid a solution that will result in unnecessary wear on the key surface or in an unsatisfactory locking effet.
A lock manufactured with the correct dimensions and tolerances will give a good protection against tampering, provided that a sufficiently large number of tumblers is used.

I preferred a hemispherical boss, because this is easier to remove by the manufacturer or the locksmith.

Tampering is prevented by the fact, that it is difficult to replace a removed boss.

My invention is common to many other locks in that the tumblers are responding to the heights of the bitting (bosses) and in this way allows or prevents the lock plug to rotate in relation to the lock cylinder.

The difference consists of the fact that the key is provided with bosses which are removed in a preferred combination. These bosses are manufactured by forging or casting. Since the key and (he lock is a unity there are several essential dependent claims assigned. The object of these is to support the main claim in order to prevent infringement on the unity by various applied combinations.
