(EN)A circuit for driving a liquid crystal bar graph display unit has a major object to provide a circuit of simple construction, which may be used even when the numbers of block electrodes and segment electrodes are altered. In order to perform this object, the analog value of an input signal is convened to a pulse train of the number proportional to the analog value of the input signal. This pulse train is further divided in frequency by n (where n represents the number of segments per one block) so as to form the pulse train of l/n as compared with the original pulse train. The voltage to be applied to the segment electrodes is further selected in response to the original pulse train and the number of pulses divided in frequency into l/n, and the voltage to be applied to the block electrodes is selected in response to the number of pulses thus divided as above.
(FR)Circuit de commande d"une unite a affichage a barres de cristaux liquides dont l"objet principal est de fournir un circuit de construction simple, qui peut etre utilise meme lorsque les nombres des electrodes de blocs et des electrodes de segments sont changes. Pour atteindre ce but, la valeur analogique d"un signal d"entree est convertie en un train d"impulsions d"un nombre proportionnel a la valeur analogique du signal d"entree. Ce train d"impulsions est ensuite divise en frequence par n (ou n represente le nombre de segments par bloc) de maniere a former le train d"impulsions de 1/n comparativement au premier train d"impulsions. La tension a appliquer aux electrodes de segments est de plus choisie en reponse au premier train d"impulsions et au nombre d"impulsions reparties dans 1/n, et la tension a appliquer aux electrodes de blocs est choisie en reponse au nombre d"impulsions ainsi obtenu.
