CLAIMS
1. Cleaning and lubricating compositions including fluorinated alkyl esters and another ingredient.

2. The compositions of Claim 1 wherein the other ingredients are
selected from the group consisting of tetrafluoroethylene telomers, compatible antistatic agents, and mixtures of tetrafluoroethylene telomers and compatible antistatic agents,
3. The compositions of Claim 2 wherein the other ingredient includes tetrafluoroethylene telomers.
4. The compositions of Claim 2 wherein the other ingredient includes compatible antistatic agents.
5. The compositions of Claim 2 wherein the other ingredients include mixtures of both tetrafluoroethylene telomers and compatible antistatic agents.
6. The compositions of Claim 5 wherein the fluorinated alkyl esters constitute from about 1% to about 98%, by weight of the composition, the tetrafluoroethylene telomers constitute from about 1% to about 85%, by weight of composition, and the compatible antistatic agents constitute from about 1% to about 60%, by weight of the composition.

7. The composition of Claim 5 wherein the fluorinated alkyl esters constitutes. about 5%, by weight of the composition, the tetrafluoroethylene telomers constitute about 48%, by weight of the composition, and the compatible antistatic agents constitute about 47% by weight of the composition.
8. The composition of Claim 7 wherein the antistatic agent is an amine.

9. A solution including the compositions of Claim 1 when dissolved in a solvent.
10. A solution including the compositions of Claim 5 when dissolved in a solvent..
11. A solution including the compositions of Claim 7 when dissolved in chlorofluorocarbon solvents.

12. A solution including the composition of Claim 8 dissolved in trichlorotrifluoroethane.

13. The method of lubricating at least a portion of the surface of an
article by applying, the compositions of Claim 1 to at least a portion of the surface of said article.
14. The method of Claim 13 wherein the compositions are the compositions of Claim 5.
15. The method of Claim 13 wherein the compositions are the compositions of Claim7.
16. The method of Claim 13 wherein the composition is the solution of
Claim 12.
17. A dry applicator for cleaning and lubricating at least a portion of the surface of an article wherein said applicator includes a substrate and the compositions of Claim 26 carried by said substrate.
18. The applicator of Claim 17 wherein the compositions carried are the compositions of Claim 5.
19. The applicator of Claim 17 wherein the composition carried is the
composition of Claim 8.
20. An article including a surface wherein at least a portion of the surface of said article is coated with a thin outer coating including the compositions of Claim 1.
21. The article of Claim 20 wherein the coating has a thickness greater than about 0.07 micron.
22. The article of Claim 20 wherein the coating has a thickness in the range of about 0.07 and about 0.90 micron.
23. The article of Claim 22 wherein the article is a phonograph record and the coating has a thickness in the range of about 0.50 to about
0.70 micron.
24. The article of Claim 22 wherein the article is magnetic recording media.

25. The article of Claim 22 wherein the article is photgraphic film.
26. Cleaning and lubricating compositions consisting essentially of at least 0.01% to about 98%, by weight of the composition, fluorinated alkyl esters, and from about 2% to about 99.9% of a diluent, wherein said fluorinated alkyl esters have a molecular weight of at least about 300 are non-polymeric and wherein, in the absence of a solvent, said fluorinated alkyl esters are normally solid under ambient conditions and wherein said diluent does not detract from the cleaning and lubricating ability of said fluorinated alkyl esters.
27. The article of Claim 22 wherein the article is a film positive for lithography.

AMENDED CLAIMS
(Received by the International Bureau on 2SJ uly 1978 (28.07.78))

1. Cleaning and lubricating compositions consisting
essentially of:
cleaning and lubricating fluorinated alkyl esters having the structure
R(CF2)nCOOR1
wherein R is a material selected from the group consisting of H, CF3 and alkyl compounds, R1 is a short chain
alkyl compound, and n is equal to a positive integer
such that the molecular weight of the compound is equal to or greater than about 300; and
another material selected from the group consisting of
tetrafluoroethylene telomers, compatible anti-static
agents, fillers, coloring agents, fragrances, solvents
and mixtures of tetrafluorethethylene telomers, compatible anti-static agents, fillers, coloring agents, fragrances, and solvents, wherein said other ingredients
do not detract from the cleaning and lubricating ability of said fluorinated alkyl esters, and wherein, in the
absence of a solvent, said fluorinated alkyl esters are normally solid under ambient conditions.

2. The compositions of claim 1 wherein the other material
is selected from the group consisting of tetrafluoroethylene telomers, compatible anti-static agents, fillers, coloring agents and fragrances and mixtures of tetrafluoroethylene telomers, compatible anti-static agents, fillers, coloring agents and fragrances.

3. The compositions of claim 2 wherein the other ingredient includes tetrafluoroethylene telomers.

4. The compositions of claim 2 wherein the other ingredients includes compatible anti-static agents.

5. The compositions of claim 2 wherein the other ingredients include mixtures of both tetrafluoroethylene telomers
and compatible anti-static agents.

6. The compositions of claim 5 wherein the fluorinated
alkyl esters constitute from about 1% to about 98%, by weight of the composition, the tetrafluoroethylene telomers constitute from about 1% to about 85%, by weight of the composition, and the compatible anti-static agents constitute from about 1% to about 60%, by weight of the composition.

7. The composition of claim 5 wherein the fluorinated alkyl ester constitutes about 5%, by weight of the composition, the tetrafluoroethylene telomers constitute about 48%, by weight of the composition, and the compatible antistatic agents constitute about 47% by weight of the composition.

8. The composition of claim 7 wherein the anti-static agent is an amine.

9. A solution including the compositions of claim 1 when
dissolved in a solvent.

10. A solution including the compositions of claim 5 when
dissolved in a solvent.

11. A solution including the compositions of claim 7 when
dissolved in chlorofluorocarbon solvents.

12. A solution including the composition of claim 8 dissolved in trichlorotrifluoroethane.

13. The method of lubricating at least a portion of the
surface of an article by applying the compositions of claim 1 to at least a portion of the surface of said article.

14. The method of lubricating the surface of an article by applying the composition of claim 5.

15. The method of lubricating the surface of an article by
applying the compositions of claim 7.

16. The method of lubricating the surface of an article by
applying the solution of claim 12.

17. A dry applicator for cleaning and lubricating at least
a portion of the surface of an article wherein said applicator includes a substrate and the compostions of
claim 1 carried by said substrate.

18. A dry applicator for cleaning and lubricating the surface
of an article wherein said applicator includes a substrate
and the compositions of claim 5 carried by said substrate.

19. A dry applicator for cleaning and lubricating the surface
of an article wherein said applicator includes a substrate
and the compositions of claim 7 carried by said substrate.

20. An article including a surface wherein at least a portion
of the surface of said article is coated with a thin
outer coating including the compositions of claim 1.

21. The article of claim 20 wherein the coating has a thickness greater than about 0.07 micron.

22. The article of claim 20 wherein the coating has a thickness in the range of about 0.07 and about 0.90 micron.

23. The article of claim 22 wherein the article is a phonograph record and the coating has a thickness in the range
of about 0.50 to about 0.70 micron.

24. The article of claim 22 wherein the article is magnetic
recording media.

25. The article of claim 22 wherein the article is photographic film.

26. The article of claim 22 wherein the article is a film

The amendment provides more appropriate language for the invention. Claims 1 and 2 now provide more details. Claims 14, 15, 16, 18 and 19 have been amended to make their dependency clearer. Original claim 26 is cancelled. Original claim 27 is renumbered as claim 26. The other claims remain substantially unchanged.
None of the amendments go beyond the disclosure of the International Application as filed.
Entry of the amendment is requested.
