(EN)A method of producing crude iron from sulphidic iron-containing material, where an iron sulphide containing material is charged to a furnace space and there, together with a silica containing material and oxygen, is smelted to an iron-silicate smelt during combustion of sulphidebound sulphur present, so that said smelt contains approximately 70-90% by weight iron calculated as iron (II) oxide. To the smelt is then added a reducing agent in a manner such that the iron content calculated as iron (II) oxide falls to approximately 60% by weight or lower in the presence of lime and/or other fluxing agents and that formed crude iron is separated. The iron content of the iron silicate smelt is then increased by adding further iron sulphide containing material and oxygen for smelting and reducing agent for another reduction.
(FR)Procede de production de fer brut a partir d"un materiau contenant du sulfure de fer, selon lequel un tel materiau est place dans un four ou, en presence d"un materiau contenant de la silice et en presence d"oxygene, il est fondu en un fer-silicate pendant que s"opere la combustion du soufre du sulfure, de telle sorte que le fer-silicate contienne approximativement 70-90% en poids de fer calcule sous forme d"oxyde de fer (II). Au fer-silicate on ajoute un agent reducteur de sorte que la teneur en fer calculee sous forme d"oxyde de fer (II) tombe a 60% en poids approximativement ou moins en presence de chaux et/ou d"autres agents de fluxage pour separer le fer brut forme. La teneur en fer du fer-silicate est augmentee en ajoutant davantage de materiau contenant du sulfure de fer et de l"oxygene pour la fusion ainsi que de l"agent reducteur pour une autre reduction.
