(EN) PURPOSE: A camera module and an operation method thereof are provided to obtain a clear image by selecting a subject image having a pixel of high priority focusing level as an auto-focused image. CONSTITUTION: A photographing unit(110) photographs a subject. An ISP(Image Signal Processor)(200) divides an image area of the photographed subject into a plurality of sections. The ISP photographs each section through AF(Auto Focusing) with control of a focusing driving unit(130). The ISP selects the auto-focused image through detection of a focusing level of a pixel about subject images. (KO) 본 발명은 카메라 모듈 및 그의 구동 방법에 관한 것이다. 즉, 본 발명의 카메라 모듈은 렌즈를 포함하고, 피사체를 촬영하는 촬상부와; 상기 촬상부의 렌즈를 이동시키는 렌즈 이송부와; 상기 렌즈 이송부를 동작시키는 포커싱 구동부와; 상기 촬상부에서 촬영되는 피사체의 영상 영역을 복수개의 구간들로 분할하고, 상기 구간들 각각을 오토 포커싱(Auto Focusing, AF)하여 촬영하도록, 상기 포커싱 구동부를 제어하고, 상기 구간들 각각이 오토 포커싱되어 촬영된 피사체의 영상들에서 동일 픽셀의 포커싱 레벨을 검출 및 비교하여 오토 포커스된 영상으로 선정하는 이미지 신호 프로세서(Image Signal Processor, ISP)를 포함한다.
