タッチセンサパネルにタッチする対象物の接地状態が不充分なために誤った読み(いわゆる「負のピクセル」)を生じるタッチセンサパネルに含まれるピクセルの補償について開示する。誤った読みを補償するために、タッチセンサパネルのセンス線は、逆方向ドライブ回路を含み、対象物対接地点キャパシタンスの計算を容易にすることができる。計算された対象物対接地点キャパシタンスが不充分な接地状態の存在を指示する場合には、その対象物対接地点キャパシタンス及び検出されたピクセルタッチ出力値を使用して、新たなピクセルタッチ出力値を推定し、これを、検出されたピクセルタッチ出力値に代わって使用して、タッチ事象(1つ又は複数)を決定することができる。
