PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection image display device which enables easy cancellation of a power-saving mode.

SOLUTION: The projection image display device 100 includes a detection unit 320 for detecting an object that blocks light in a specific region, and a mode control unit 340 for shifting an operation mode to the power-saving mode when a prescribed condition is satisfied. The mode control unit 340 shifts the operation mode to a normal power mode in response to the detection of the object that blocks the light in the specific region in the power-saving mode.

【課題】省電力モードを簡易に解除することを可能とする投写型映像表示装置を提供する。
【解決手段】投写型映像表示装置100は、特定領域において光を遮光する物体を検出する検出部320と、所定条件が満たされた場合に、動作モードを省電力モードに移行するモード制御部340とを備える。モード制御部340は、省電力モードにおいて、特定領域において光を遮光する物体の検出に応じて、動作モードを通常電力モードに移行する。
