PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection pump which can be manufactured without an increase in the manufacturing cost and which is configured so that the sealing performance of a solenoid spill valve can be maintained with minimum maintenance cost.

SOLUTION: A solenoid spill valve 20 includes: a housing 21 in which an insert piece insertion hole 21e is formed; an insert piece 22 which is formed into a substantially hollow cylindrical shape having a valve seat 22b on the inner peripheral surface thereof and which is removably mounted in the insert piece insertion hole 21e; a spill valve element 23 which is formed in a substantially solid cylindrical shape having on the outer peripheral surface thereof a seal surface 23b facing the valve seat 22b and which is slidably inserted in the insert piece 22 so that the seal surface 23b is seated on the valve seat 22b; a stopper 24 which can be in contact with the spill valve element 23 when the spill valve element 23 is slid to the left side of the insert piece 22 in the axial direction; a solenoid 25 which can slide the spill valve element 23 to the right side in the axial direction; and a spill valve spring 23e which is the pressing member for pressing the spill valve element 23 to the left side in the axial direction.

【課題】生産コストを増大させることなく、最小限のメンテナンスコストで電磁スピル弁のシール性能を維持することができる燃料噴射ポンプの提供を目的とする。
【解決手段】電磁スピル弁20は、インサートピース内装孔21eが形成されるハウジング21と、内周面に弁座22bを有する略円筒状に形成され、インサートピース内装孔21e着脱自在に内装されるインサートピース22と、外周面に弁座22bと相対するシール面23bを有する略円柱状に形成され、シール面23bが弁座22bに着座するようにインサートピース22に摺動自在に挿入されるスピル弁体23と、スピル弁体23がインサートピース22の軸方向左側方に摺動されたとき、スピル弁体23と当接可能なストッパ24と、スピル弁体23を軸方向右側方に摺動可能なソレノイド25と、スピル弁体23を軸方向左側方に付勢する付勢部材であるスピル弁ばね23eと、を具備する。
