The purpose of the present invention is to provide: a glass ceramic which has excellent transparency and chemical strengthening properties; and a chemically strengthened glass which has a large coefficient of thermal expansion, excellent transparency and strength, and in which fragments do not easily scatter when broken. The present invention relates to: a glass ceramic having a specific composition and having a visible light transmittance at a thickness of 0.7 mm and a haze value at a thickness of 0.7 mm within specific ranges; the present invention relates to a chemically strengthened glass having a compressive stress layer on the surface, and having a visible light transmittance when converted to a thickness of 0.7 mm, a haze value when converted to a thickness of 0.7 mm, a surface compressive stress, and a compressive stress layer depth within specific ranges, and the chemically strengthened glass being a glass ceramic having a specific composition.
