The invention provides an evaluation method and device for an IGBT combination scheme of a wind power converter. The method comprises the steps of, for a plurality of IGBT combination schemes, based on the output power, corresponding to the wind speeds, of wind generators, the wind frequency time for indicating durations of the wind speeds in a predetermined time period, and the conversion efficiency, corresponding to the wind speeds, of the IGBT combination schemes, calculating the total power generation capacity of the IGBT combination schemes in the predetermined time period; comparing thetotal power generation capacity of the IGBT combination schemes in the predetermined time period; and based on a comparison result, determining the IGBT combination scheme with the highest total powergeneration capacity in the IGBT combination schemes as an optimal IGBT combination scheme. According to the method and the device, the IGBT combination scheme meeting the condition that the total power generation efficiency and the total power generation capacity of a wind generator set at a total power section achieve the best can be selected as the optimal IGBT combination scheme.
