The present invention relates to a device and a method for controlling the defrosting of a refrigeration and freezing system to determine automatic defrosting to run a defrosting operation when an automatic defrosting condition is satisfied by measuring the temperature of an evaporator coil while running the defrosting operation at predetermined intervals. The device for controlling the defrosting of a refrigeration and freezing system comprises a first temperature sensor installed inside an evaporator to measure the temperature inside the evaporator; an expansion valve between a condenser and the evaporator; a defrosting heater for defrosting the evaporator; and a second temperature sensor on the evaporator coil to measure the temperature of the evaporator coil. Therefore, the present invention defrosts the evaporator on a real time basis by running the defrosting operation at predetermined intervals; measuring the temperature of the evaporator coil; and running the defrosting operation when the temperature of the coil is in a range satisfying the automatic defrosting condition. 본 발명은 기설정된 주기로 제상 운전을 수행하면서 증발기 코일의 온도를 측정하여 자동 제상 여부를 판단하고, 자동 제상 조건이 되면 제상 운전을 수행할 수 있도록 하는 냉장 및 냉동 시스템의 제상 제어 장치 및 방법에 관한 것이다. 이를 위해, 본 발명은 증발기 내에 설치되어 증발기 내의 온도를 측정하는 제1온도 센서; 응축기와 상기 증발기 사이에 설치되어, 응축기에서 응축된 저온 고압의 액체 냉매를 팽창시켜 저온 저압의 액체 냉매로 만들어 상기 증발기로 유입시키는 팽창 밸브; 상기 증발기 내에 달라붙은 성에를 제거하는 제상 히터; 및 기설정된 시간을 주기로 상기 팽창 밸브와 제상 히터를 제어하여 제상 운전을 수행하고, 제상 운전을 수행하는 동안 상기 제1온도 센서를 통해 측정된 증발기 내의 온도가 기설정된 제1제상 종료 온도가 되면 상기 팽창 밸브와 제상 히터를 제어하여 제상 운전을 종료하는 제어부를 포함하여 이루어지는 냉장 및 냉동 시스템의 제상 제어 장치에 있어서, 증발기 코일에 설치되어 증발기 코일의 온도를 측정하는 제2온도 센서를 더 포함하여 이루어지고, 상기 제어부는, 기설정된 주기로 제상 운전을 수행하면서, 상기 제2온도 센서를 통해 측정된 상기 증발기 코일의 온도에 의거하여 자동 제상 여부를 판단하고, 상기 증발기 코일의 온도가 자동 제상 조건을 만족하면, 상기 증발기 코일의 온도가 기설정된 제2제상 종료 온도가 될 때까지 상기 팽창 밸브의 개도를 단계별로 감소시키는 것이 바람직하다. 이에 따라, 본 발명은 일정 시간을 주기로 제상 운전을 수행하면서, 증발기 코일의 온도를 측정하여 코일의 온도가 자동 제상 조건을 만족하면 제상 운전을 수행하여 증발기에 적상된 성에를 실시간 제거할 수 있게 된다.
