PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an in-wheel motor drive device that prevents interference with a suspension device and a brake device, to improve vehicle mountability.

SOLUTION: This in-wheel motor driving device 11 includes a motor 3, a speed-reducing gear mechanism 20 for transmitting rotation of the motor 3, a speed-reducing planetary gear 40 for further reducing rotation speed of the speed-reducing gear mechanism 20, and an output shaft 50 for outputting reduced rotation of the speed-reducing planetary gear 40 to a wheel 100. The speed-reducing planetary gear 40 and the output shaft 50 are arranged on the first axis AX1. The motor 3 is arranged on the second axis AX2 parallel to the first axis AX1. The motor 3 and the speed-reducing planetary gear 40 are positioned on a radial directional cross section orthogonal to the first axis AX1 and the second axis AX2. The motor 3 is prevented from protruding to the vehicle side. An increase in overall diameter of the in-wheel motor driving device 11 is prevented. Interference with the suspension device and the brake device is prevented.

【課題】サスペンション装置やブレーキ装置に干渉することを防止し、車両搭載性を向上させることが可能なインホイールモータ駆動装置を提供する。
【解決手段】インホイールモータ駆動装置1には、モータ3と、モータ3の回転を伝達する減速ギヤ機構20と、減速ギヤ機構20の回転を更に減速する減速プラネタリギヤ40と、減速プラネタリギヤ40の減速回転をホイール100に出力する出力軸50とが備えられている。減速プラネタリギヤ40及び出力軸50を第1軸AX1上に配置し、モータ3を第1軸AX1と平行な第2軸AX2上に配置し、第1軸AX1及び第2軸AX2と直交する径方向断面上にモータ3と減速プラネタリギヤ40とを位置させる。モータ3が車両側に侵出することが防がれ、かつインホイールモータ駆動装置1全体の直径が大きくなることも防がれ、サスペンション装置やブレーキ装置に干渉することが防止される。
