CLAIMS:

1. A porous medium parameter measurement device comprising one or more component selected from:

i) a porous conductive component;

ii) a porous non-conductive component; and

iii) a selective component;

wherein each of the one or more component is in operative communication with each other and with a porous medium through a plurality of pores allowing a porous medium solution to reach diffusion equilibrium between the porous medium and each of the one or more component; and

wherein the one or more component allows direct measurement of a multiplicity of parameters of the porous medium solution.

2. The porous medium parameter measurement device according to claim 1, wherein the operative communication is a fluid communication.

3. The porous medium parameter measurement device according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the multiplicity of parameters of the porous medium solution includes 2 parameters of the porous medium solution.

4. The porous medium parameter measurement device according to any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein the multiplicity of parameters of the porous medium solution includes at least 3 parameters of the porous medium solution.

5. The porous medium parameter measurement device according to any one of claims 1 to 4, wherein the one or more component allows simultaneous direct measurement of at least some of the multiplicity of parameters of the porous medium solution.

6. The porous medium parameter measurement device according to any one of claims 1 to 4, wherein the one or more component allows simultaneous direct measurement of the entirety of the multiplicity of parameters of the porous medium solution.

7. The porous medium parameter measurement device according to any one of claims 1 to 6, wherein the multiplicity of parameters of the porous medium solution is selected from: salinity, water tension, ionic concentration, ionic strength, energy, pH, osmotic potential and temperature.

8. The porous medium parameter measurement device according to any one of claims 1 to 7, wherein the at least one porous conductive component comprises conductive particles.

9. The porous medium parameter measurement device according to claim 8, wherein the conductive particles are metallic particles.

10. The porous medium parameter measurement device according to claim 9, wherein the metallic particles are silver particles, aluminum particles, titanium particles, copper particles, zirconium particles, any combination thereof, or any alloy thereof.

11. The porous medium parameter measurement device according to claim 8, wherein the conductive particles are graphite particles.

12. The porous medium parameter measurement device according to any one of claims 1 to 11, wherein the at least one porous non-conductive component comprises hydrophilic non-conductive ceramic.

13. The porous medium parameter measurement device according to any one of claims 1 to 12, wherein the at least one porous conductive component comprises hydrophilic conductive ceramic.

14. The porous medium parameter measurement device according to any one of claims 1 to 13, wherein the at least one porous conductive component exhibits an air entry point that is between about 1 kPa and about 100000 kPa, between about 100 kPa and about 50 000 kPa, between about 1000 kPa and about 10 000 kPa, between about 1 kPa and about 25 000 kPa, or between about 1 kPa and about 10000 kPa.

15. The porous medium parameter measurement device according to any one of claims 1 to 13, wherein the at least one porous conductive component exhibits an air entry point that is about 1100 kPa.

16. The porous medium parameter measurement device according to any one of claims 1 to 15, wherein the selective component comprises a conductive porous material.

17. The porous medium parameter measurement device according to claim 16, wherein the conductive porous material comprises a plurality of pores.

18. The porous medium parameter measurement device according to claim 17, wherein the plurality of pores is fdled with a polymeric substance.

19. The porous medium parameter measurement device according to claim 18, wherein the polymeric substance comprises a hydrogel.

20. The porous medium parameter measurement device according to any one of claims 1 to 19, wherein pores of the plurality of pores have an average size ranging between about 0.01 micron and about 5 microns.

21. The porous medium parameter measurement device according to any one of claims 1 to 19, wherein pores of the plurality of pores have an average size ranging between about 5 microns and about 50 microns.

22. The porous medium parameter measurement device according to any one of claims 1 to 19, wherein pores of the plurality of pores have an average size ranging between about 5 microns and 35 microns.

23. The porous medium parameter measurement device according to any one of claims 1 to 19, wherein pores of the plurality of pores have an average size ranging between about 10 microns and about 50 microns.

24. The porous medium parameter measurement device according to any one of claims 1 to 19, wherein pores of the plurality of pores have an average size ranging between about 10 microns and about 35 microns.

25. The porous medium parameter measurement device according to any one of claims 1 to 24, wherein the one or more component consists of the component i).

26. The porous medium parameter measurement device according to claim 25, comprising multiple layers of the component i); wherein each layer of the multiple layers allows for the direct measurement of a specific parameter of the porous medium solution from the multiplicity of parameters of the porous medium solution.

27. The porous medium parameter measurement device according to any one of claims 1 to 24, wherein the one or more component consists of the component ii).

28. The porous medium parameter measurement device according to claim 27, comprising multiple layers of the component ii); wherein each layer of the multiple layers allows for the direct measurement of a specific parameter of the porous medium solution from the multiplicity of parameters of the porous medium solution.

29. The porous medium parameter measurement device according to any one of claims 1 to 24, wherein the one or more component consists of the component iii).

30. The porous medium parameter measurement device according to claim 29, comprising multiple layers of the component iii); wherein each layer of the multiple layers allows for the direct measurement of a specific parameter of the porous medium solution from the multiplicity of parameters of the porous medium solution.

31. The porous medium parameter measurement device according to any one of claims 1 to 24, wherein the one or more component consists of the component i) and the component ii).

32. The porous medium parameter measurement device according to any one of claims 1 to 24, wherein the one or more component consists of the component i) and the component iii).

33. The porous medium parameter measurement device according to any one of claims 1 to 24, wherein the one or more component consists of the component ii) and the component iii).

34. The porous medium parameter measurement device according to any one of claims 1 to 24, wherein the one or more component consists of the component i), the component ii), and the component iii).

35. A method for measuring a multiplicity of parameters of a porous medium solution, the method comprising:

a) inserting the porous medium parameter measurement device as defined in any one of claims 1 to 34 into a porous medium comprising the porous medium solution; b) allowing the porous medium solution to diffuse through the pores of the porous medium parameter measurement device; and

c) measuring the multiplicity of parameters of the porous medium solution from the porous medium solution comprised in the pores.

36. The method according to claim 35, wherein at least some of the multiplicity of parameters of the porous medium solution are being measured simultaneously.

37. The method according to claim 35, wherein the multiplicity of parameters of the porous medium solution are being measured simultaneously.

38. The method according to claim 35, wherein more than three parameters of the multiplicity of parameters of the porous medium solution are being measured simultaneously.
