The invention relates to a device for the acquisition of seismic signals at the bottom of a body of water. The inventive device comprises a cable bearing a series of seismic receiver units which are spaced out along the length of said cable. According to the invention, the aforementioned series consists of alternating (i) receiver units comprising a hydrophone and a vertical geophone, which are sensitive to compression waves, and (ii) receiver units comprising two geophones forming an orthogonal trihedron with the vertical geophone, which are sensitive to shear waves.
