CLAIMS

1. Eyeglass frame (2, 52) with an eyeglass front (3, 53) for receiving at least one eyeglass lense (4a, 4b; 54a, 54b), and with a left and right temple (7, 8; 57, 58) which are pivotably connected to the eyeglass front (3, 53) via a pivot joint connection (10a, 10b; 60a, 60b) for holding the eyeglass frame (2, 52) on the head of an eyeglass wearer, wherein the eyeglass front (3, 53) forms at least an upper frame section (5, 55), wherein the temples (7, 8; 57, 58) can be pivoted relative to the eyeglass front (3, 53) from a position of use into a closing position, in which the temples (7, 8; 57, 58) are arranged above the upper frame section (5, 55), and vice versa,

characterised in that

in their closing position above the upper frame section (5, 55) the temples (7, 8; 57, 58) are arranged in a crossed position relative to each other.

2. Eyeglass frame according to claim 1, characterised in that the temples (7, 8; 57, 58) in each case have a first longitudinal portion (7.1, 7.G, 7.1", 57.1; 8.1, 8.G, 8.1", 58.1), a second longitudinal portion (7.2, 7.2’, 7.2", 57.2; 8.2, 8.2', 8.2", 58.2) and a crossing portion (7.3, 7.3’, 7.3", 57.3; 8.3, 8.3', 8.3", 58.3), which connects the first and second longitudinal portion (7.1, 7.G, 7.1", 57.1; 7.2, 7.2',

7.2", 57.2; 8.1, 8.1', 8.1"; 8.2, 8.2’, 8.2", 58.2) with each other.

3. Eyeglass frame according to claim 2, characterised in that the crossing portion (7.3, 8.3; 57.3, 58.3) forms a displacement in height between the first (7.1, 57.1 ; 8.1, 58.1) and the second longitudinal portion (7.2, 57.2; 8.2, 58.2) of the temple

(7, 8; 57, 58).

Eyeglass frame according to one of the claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the maximum overall width of the pairing of the crossed first and second temple (7, 8; 57, 58) above the upper frame section (5, 55) in the closing position corresponds to the width of the upper frame section (5, 55) or is smaller, and in particular the temples (7, 8; 57, 58) are designed such that the pairing formed by the crossed first and second temples (7, 8; 57, 58) above the upper frame section (5, 55) in the closing position does not protrude beyond the front side (12, 62) and the back side (13, 63) of the upper frame section (5, 55).

5. Eyeglass frame according to one of the claims 2 to 4, characterised in that the crossing portions (7.3, 8.3; 57.3, 58.3) as viewed from the back or the front side, are arranged in succession in the crossed closing position of the temples (7, 8; 57, 58) amid the formation of a crossing region (14, 64).

6. Eyeglass frame according to one of the claims 2 to 5, characterised in that the width of the crossing portions (7.3, 8.3; 57.3, 58.3) in each case is smaller than the width of the first longitudinal portions (7.1, 57.1; 8.1, 58.1) of the temples (7, 8; 57, 58) connecting to the crossing portions (7.3, 8.3; 57.3, 58.3).

7. Eyeglass frame according to one of the claims 2 to 6, characterised in that the width of the crossing portions (7.3, 8.3) in each case is smaller than the width of the longitudinal portions (7.1, 7.2; 8.1, 8.2) of the temples connecting to the crossing portions (7.3, 8.3).

8. Eyeglass frame according to one of the claims 2 to 7, characterised in that the overall width of the crossing portions (7.3, 8.3; 57.3, 58.3) in the crossed closing position of the temples (7, 8; 57, 58) is equal to or smaller than the width of the upper frame section (5, 55).

9. Eyeglass frame according to one of the claims 2 to 8, characterised in that the height of the crossing portions (7.3, 8.3) in each case is larger than the height of the longitudinal portions (7.1, 7.2; 8.1, 8.2) connecting to the crossing portions (7.3, 8.3), and in particular correspond to the overall height of the longitudinal portions (7.1, 7.2; 8.1, 8.2) of the temples (7, 8) lying above each other in the crossed closing position of the temples (7, 8).

10. Eyeglass frame according to one of the claims 2 to 8, characterised in that the height of the crossing portions (57.3, 58.3) in each case corresponds to the height of the longitudinal portions (7.1, 7.2; 8.1, 8.2) connecting to the crossing portions (7.3, 8.3).

11. Eyeglass frame according to one of the claims 2 to 10, characterised in that the crossing portions (57.3, 58.3) as viewed from the back or front side have a curved course with a diagonal intersection in the crossed closing position.

12. Eyeglass frame according to one of the claims 2 to 11, characterised in that the crossing portion (57.3) of one of the temples (57) as viewed from above has a curved course, in particular with a diagonal intersection, and thus forms a lateral displacement between the first (57.1) and the second longitudinal portion (57.2) of the temple (57, 58) in the crossed closing position.

13. Eyeglass frame according to one of the claims 1 to 12, characterised in that the eyeglass front (3, 53) is flat.

14. Eyeglass frame according to one of the claims 1 to 13, characterised in that the upper edge of the upper frame section (5, 55) is straight.

15. Eyeglass frame according to one of the claims 1 to 14, characterised in that the basic cross section of the upper frame section (5, 55) has the shape of a convex quadrilateral.

16. Eyeglass frame according to one of the claims 1 to 15, characterised in that the pivot joint connection (10a, 10b; 60a, 60b) forms a geometric pivot axis (D), via which the temples (7, 8; 57, 58) can be pivoted from their position of use into the crossed closing position and vice versa.

17. Eyeglass frame according to one of the claims 2 to 16, characterised in that in the crossed closing position the temples (7, 8), and in particular the crossing portions (7.3, 8.3), in each case comprise at least one functional element for establishing a releasable, positive connection between the temples (7, 8), which is in particular arranged in the crossing region (14).

18. Eyeglass frame according to one of the claims 1 to 17, characterised in that the flat eyeglass frame (2, 52) lies in a common plane together with the pairing of the crossed temples (7, 8; 57, 58) in the closing position.

19. Eyeglass frame according to one of the claims 2 to 18, characterised in that the first and second longitudinal portion (7.1, 7.2; 8.1, 8.2; 57.1, 57.2; 58.1, 58.2) of the temples (7, 8; 57, 58) in each case is straight.

20. Eyeglass frame according to one of the claims 2 to 19, characterised in that the first and in particular also the second longitudinal portion (7.1, 7.2; 8.1, 8.2;

57.1, 57.2; 58.1, 58.2) in each case run in parallel with the upper edge (11, 61) of the upper frame section (5, 55).

21. Eyeglass frame according to one of the claims 2 to 20, characterised in that in the crossed closing position the first longitudinal portion (7.1, 8.1; 57.1, 58.1) of the temples (7, 8; 57, 58) in each case at least partly lies against the upper edge (11, 61) of the upper frame section (5, 55), and in particular lies against the upper edge (11, 61) of the upper frame section (5, 55) along its entire length.

22. Eyeglass frame according to one of the claims 2 to 21, characterised in that in the crossed closing position the second longitudinal portion (7.2, 8.2; 57.2, 58.2) of the temples (7, 8; 57, 58) in each case at least partly lies against the upper edge of the first longitudinal portion (7.1, 8.1; 57.1, 58.1) of the other temple (7, 8; 57, 58), and in particular lies against the upper edge of the first longitudinal portion (7.1, 8.1; 57.1, 58.1) along its entire length.

23. Eyeglass frame according to one of the claims 2 to 22, characterised in that the overall width of the crossing portions (7.3, 8.3; 57.3, 58.3) forming the crossing region (14, 64) in the closing position corresponds to the width of one of:

- the first longitudinal portion (7.1, 8.1; 57.1, 58.1);

- the second longitudinal portion (7.2, 8.2);

- the first and second longitudinal portion (7.1 , 7.2; 8.1 , 8.2)

of the temples (7, 8; 57, 58).

24. Eyeglass frame according to one of the claims 1 to 23, characterised in that the pairing of crossed temples (7, 8) in the closing position has a constant, i.e. uniform overall width.

25. Eyeglass frame according to one of the claims 1 to 24, characterised in that the width of the second longitudinal portion (57.2, 58.2) is smaller than the width of the first longitudinal portion (57.1, 58.1) of the temple (57, 58) and/or of the upper frame section (55).

26. Eyeglasses (1) comprising at least one eyeglass lense (4a, 4b; 54a, 54b) and an eyeglass frame (2, 52) according to one of the claims 1 to 25.

27. Use of the eyeglasses (1, 51) according to claim 26 for insertion into a compartment of a protective case or shell for receiving an electronic handheld device, such as a smartphone.

28. Set comprising a protective shell or protective case for receiving an electronic handheld device, such as a smartphone, said protective shell or protective case forming a compartment, in particular when the electronic handheld device is received by the protective shell or protective case, and further comprising eyeglasses (1, 51) according to claim 27 inserted or insertable into the compartment.
