Claims

1. A process for preparing a sugar nucleotide from a nucleotide and a sugar derivative by use of yeast, characterized in that reactions of the process are performed at a temperature not higher than approximately 20°C.
  2. The process according to Claim 1, which is performed at a temperature of about 5°C to about 20°C.
  3. The process according to Claim 1, which is performed at a temperature of about 10°C to about 20°C.
  4. The process according to Claim 1, which is performed in the presence of an inorganic phosphoric acid.
  5. The process according to Claim 1, wherein the sugar nucleotide is selected from the group consisting of UDP sugars, GDP sugars, ADP sugars, dTDP sugars, and CDP sugars.
  6. The process according to Claim 1, wherein the sugar nucleotide is selected from the below-described group A consisting of the following members 1) through 5):

1) UDP sugars; UDP-N-acetylglucosamine, UDP glucose, UDP galactose, and UDP glucuronic acid,

2) GDP sugars; GDP mannose, GDP fucose, and GDP glucose,

3) ADP sugars; ADP glucose,

4) dTDP sugars; dTDP Glucose and dTDP galactose, and

5) CDP sugar; CDP glucose.
