CLAIMS

1) Medical device (1) for performing ileostomies and/or jejunostomies, comprising:

- at least a tubular element (2) wherein is defined at least a transit channel (3) having a plurality of entry openings (3a) for the faeces, insertable inside the intestine (I) of a patient, and at least an exit opening (3b) for the faeces, positionable outside the intestine (I), where said tubular element (2) comprises at least a first section (2a) in which are obtained said entry openings (3a) and at least a second section (2b) in which is obtained said exit opening (3b);

- first obstruction means (5) of at least an area (Z) of the intestine (I) associated with said tubular element (2), insertable inside the intestine itself and movable between a tight configuration and a widened configuration, respectively to allow them to be inserted in the intestine (I) and to prevent the transit of the faeces through said area (Z) of the intestine itself, said entry openings (3a) being positionable upstream of said first obstruction means (5), the latter being placed between said first and said second sections (2a, 2b);

- external retention means (8) able to cooperate with the patient's body to block the position of said first obstruction means (5) with respect to the body itself;

- stiffening means (17) associated with at least said first section (2a) to prevent it from bending and comprising a plurality of elastically deformable stiffening elements (17a);

characterized by the fact that said stiffening elements (17a) are integrally associated with one another at their respective extremities.

2) Device ( 1 ) according to claim 1 , characterized by the fact that said stiffening elements (17a) have a substantially threadlike conformation and are separated from one another to define a plurality of through gaps (19).

3) Device (1) according to claim 1 or 2, characterized by the fact that said first section (2a) has a free extremity (12) and that said stiffening elements (17a) externally cover said first section (2a) and said first obstruction means (5).

4) Device (1) according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized by the fact that said stiffening elements (17a) have an extremity (20) associated with said first section (2a) in the proximity of said free extremity (12) and an opposite extremity (21) associated with said second section (2b) in the proximity of said first obstruction means (5).

5) Device (1 ) according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized by the fact that said stiffening elements (17a) are movable, by effect of the shift of said first obstruction means (5) from said tight configuration towards said widened configuration, between an idle configuration, wherein they substantially follow the profile of said first section (2a), and an active configuration, wherein they are distanced from the external surface of said first section (2a) taking on a divergent conformation outwards proceeding from said free extremity (12) towards said first obstruction means (5).

6) Device (1) according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized by the fact that said stiffening elements (17a) are integrally associated the one with the other to form a single body.

7) Device (1) according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized by the fact that said stiffening elements (17a) are associated with one another to define a first closed extremity (20) of said single body, arranged at said free extremity ( 12), and a second extremity (21) defining a through opening (22) through which said tubular element (2) is inserted.

8) Device (1) according to one or more of the claims 1 to 6, characterized by the fact that said stiffening elements (17a) are associated with one another to define a first extremity (20) arranged at said first section (2a) and a second extremity (21) arranged at said second section (2b), where said first and second extremities (20, 21) define a respective through opening through which said tubular element (2) is insertable.

9) Device ( 1 ) according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized by the fact that said stiffening elements (17a) define, at said second extremity (21), a full portion (17b) able, in the active configuration taken on by the stiffening elements themselves, to cover at least partially said first obstruction means (5).

10) Device (1) according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized by the fact that it comprises second obstruction means of at least a second area of the intestine (I) arranged along said tubular element (2) and separated from said first obstruction means (5), said second obstruction means being movable between a relative tight configuration and a relative widened configuration respectively, to allow their insertion inside the intestine itself and to prevent the transit of the intestinal contents through said second area of the intestine (I).

1 1) Device (1) according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized by the fact that said first obstruction means (5) and/or said second obstruction means are of an inflatable balloon type.

12) Device (1) according to claim 1 1, characterized by the fact that it comprises starting means (6) of said inflatable balloon (5).

13) Device (1 ) according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized by the fact that said entry openings (3a) are defined at the lateral surface of said first section (2a).

14) Device (1) according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized by the fact that at least some of said entry openings (3a) are arranged along the direction of longitudinal extension of said first section (2a).

15) Device (I) according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized by the fact that said entry openings (3a) have a substantially elliptical conformation.
