METHOD FOR CREATING AND DISPLAYING
BACKGROUND OFAMOBILE PHONE MESSAGE

Technical Field

The present invention relates to a text message service of a mobile phone terminal, such as Short Message Service (SMS) or Long Message Service (LMS), and more particularly, to a method of generating and displaying a text message background screen of a mobile phone terminal.

Background Art

In general, in a mobile phone terminal, if a user inputs a specific character string including characters, numerals, various special characters, etc. by manipulating a keypad, an internal text message processor generates a text message corresponding to the input character string, and transmits the generated text message.
Furthermore, an internal text message processor of a mobile phone terminal that has received the text message displays the received text message on the display window of the mobile phone terminal if a user requests received text message read or confirmation by manipulating a keypad.
For reference, an ASCII code is a standard character combination code used to exchange a text message, and it is classified into a print code for printing of a character combination code and a non-print code for transmission control of a character combination code. In general, the non-print code is used for transmission control in PC, etc., but does not play any role in a mobile phone terminal.
Therefore, the internal text message processor of the mobile phone terminal generates or displays a text message by using the print code of the ASCII code.
FIG. 1 is a flowchart illustrating a method of generating and displaying a text message of a general mobile phone terminal. FIG. 2 shows UI screens according to FIG. 1. A method of generating and displaying a text message of a conventional mobile phone terminal is described below with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2.
The method of generating and displaying a text message, as illustrated in FIG. 1 , is performed between a mobile phone terminal of a sender and a mobile phone terminal of a receiver, who gain access to a text message service transmission network, such as wired/wireless Internet or a mobile communication network, which is provided by a mobile communication provider.
If a specific sender inputs a specific character string including characters, numerals and/or various special characters by manipulating a keypad (SlO), a text message processor of the mobile phone terminal of the sender generates a text message corresponding to the input character string (S 12), and then sends the text message to the mobile phone terminal of the receiver (S 14).
Thereafter, if the receiver requests the received text message to be read or confirmed by manipulating a keypad (S 16), a text message processor of the mobile phone terminal of the receiver displays the received text message thereon (S 18).
In the character string input process (SlO), if the sender selects a text message service of the mobile phone terminal by pressing a specific key of the keypad, a manage message menu screen, displaying menus such as RECEIVED MESSAGE, SENT

MESSAGE and SENTENCE BOX, is displayed as illustrated in FIG. 2(A). If the sender selects the menu SENT MESSAGE, a sent message menu screen, displaying menus such as WRITE LETTER, CALL MOBILE PHONE and MANAGE SENT

MESSAGE BOX, is displayed as illustrated in FIG. 2(B).
If the sender selects the menu WRITE LETTER with the sent message menu screen being displayed, a write letter menu screen, displaying menus such as WRITE NEW SENTENCE, FETCH SENTENCE and TRANSMIT, is displayed as illustrated in FIG. 2(C).
If the sender selects the write new sentence menu with the write letter menu screen being displayed, a write new sentence menu screen, including a character string input window 10 and a soft key menu for transmission 11, including a Korean/English shift key (?\), an English upper case/lower case letter shift key (A,a), a special character input key (Special) and so on, is displayed as illustrated in FIG. 2(D). The sender then inputs a specific character string to the character string input window 10 while utilizing the soft key menu for transmission 11 by manipulating the keypad.
In the character message generating process (S 12), if the sender has input a specific character string to the character string input window 10 of the write new sentence menu screen, the internal text message processor of the mobile phone terminal of the sender generates a text message corresponding to the input character string by using the print code of the ASCII code.
In the character message transmission process (S 14), if the sender requests the transmission of the message by manipulating the keypad after inputting a specific character string to the character string input window 10 of the write new sentence menu screen, the mobile phone terminal of the sender sends the text message, generated by the internal text message processor, to the mobile phone terminal of the receiver through wired/wireless Internet, a mobile communication network or the like.
In the character message read process (S 16), if the receiver selects the text message service of the mobile phone terminal by pressing a specific key of the keypad, a manage message menu screen, including menus such as RECEIVED MESSAGE, SENT MESSAGE and SENTENCE BOX, is displayed as illustrated in FIG. 2(E). Thereafter, if the receiver selects the menu RECEIVED MESSAGE, a received message menu screen, including menus such as READ LETTER, CALL MOBILE PHONE and MANAGE RECEIVED MESSAGE BOX, is displayed as illustrated in FIG. 2(F). If the receiver selects the menu READ LETTER with the received message menu screen being displayed, a read letter menu screen, including menus such as READ NEW SENTENCE, FETCH SENTENCE and TRANSMIT, is displayed as illustrated in FIG. 2(G).
If the receiver selects the read new sentence menu with the read letter menu screen being displayed, a read new sentence menu screen on which received messages are sequentially listed according to its received order, is displayed as illustrated in FIG. 2(H). Thereafter, the receiver selects a specific received message and requests the selected message to be read, by manipulating the keypad.
In the character message display process (S 18), if the receiver selects a specific received message in the read new sentence menu and requests the selected message to be read, by manipulating the keypad, the internal text message processor of the mobile phone terminal of the receiver displays a received character string, corresponding to the received text message, on a read new sentence menu screen, including a character string display window and a soft key menu for reception, including a delete key, a confirm key, a reply key and so on, by using the print code of the ASCII code, as illustrated.
Meanwhile, in the conventional method of generating and displaying a text message of a mobile phone terminal, mobile phone terminal users are allowed to exchange only text messages. Accordingly, the conventional method does not fulfill the needs of mobile phone terminal users who want to select and represent a background screen of a text message in various ways.

Disclosure of Invention
Technical Problem

Accordingly, the present invention has been made in an attempt to solve the above problems occurring in the prior art, and it is an object of the present invention to provide a method of generating and displaying a text message background screen of a mobile phone terminal, in which when a text message of the mobile phone terminal is generated and sent, a background screen index value to specify the background screen is also generated and sent, and when the text message of the mobile phone terminal is received and displayed, a background screen to specify the received background screen index value is also displayed.

Technical Solution

To achieve a above object, the present invention provides a method of generating and displaying a text message background screen of a mobile phone terminal, including the steps of, if a sender inputs a specific character string by manipulating a keypad, allowing a text message processor of a mobile phone terminal of the sender to generate a text message corresponding to the input character string; if the sender selects a background screen to be displayed along with the text message by manipulating the keypad after the text message is generated; allowing the text message processor of the mobile phone terminal of the sender to generate a background screen index value corresponding to any one of a plurality of background screens, which include a basic background screen and specific images for representing the sender's intentions and are classified on a category basis, by using a non-print code of an ASCII code, and then to send the generated background screen index value to a mobile phone terminal of a receiver along with the text message; and if the receiver requests the received text message to be read or confirmed by manipulating a keypad, allowing a text message processor of a mobile phone terminal of the receiver to inquire a background screen corresponding to the received background screen index value by using the non-print code of the ASCII code, and display the inquired background screen along with the received text message.

Advantageous Effects

As described above, in accordance with a method of generating and displaying a text message background screen of a mobile phone terminal according to the present invention, users can select a background screen of a text message in various ways while exchanging the text message. Accordingly, the needs of mobile phone terminal users who want to represent their intentions can be met.
In reality, users according to the present invention can represent scenes to be seen with only background screens selected by them, or can exchange weather information. Furthermore, users can express their life situations or feelings to others, or can express love to counterparts. Furthermore, users can express congratulation or thanks to counterparts when various events, such as a birthday or a commemoration day, occur, or can utilize background screens themselves as presents.

The present invention will now be described in detail in connection with a specific embodiment with reference to the accompanying drawings.
FIG. 3 is a flowchart illustrating a method of generating and displaying a text message background screen of a mobile phone terminal according to the present invention. FIG. 4 shows a UI screen according to FIG. 3. A method of generating and displaying a text message background screen of a mobile phone terminal according to the present invention is described below with reference to FIGS. 3 and 4.
The method of generating and displaying a text message background screen illustrated in FIG. 3 is performed between a mobile phone terminal of a sender and a mobile phone terminal of a receiver, who gain access to a text message service transmission network, such as wired/wireless Internet or a mobile communication network, which is provided by a mobile communication provider.
If a specific sender inputs a specific character string including characters, numerals and/or various special characters by manipulating a keypad (S20), a text message processor of the mobile phone terminal of the sender generates a text message corresponding to the input character string (S21). Thereafter, if the sender selects any one of a plurality of background screens, which include a basic background screen and specific images for representing a sender's intentions and are classified on a category basis, by manipulating a keypad (S22), a text message processor of the mobile phone terminal of the sender generates a background screen index value corresponding to the selected background screen (S23), and then sends the background screen index value to the mobile phone terminal of the receiver along with a text message (S24).
If the receiver requests the received text message to be read or confirmed by manipulating a keypad (S25), a text message processor of the mobile phone terminal of the receiver inquires a background screen corresponding to the received background screen index value (S26), and then displays the received text message along with an inquired background screen (S27).
In the character string input process (S20), if the sender selects a text message service of the mobile phone terminal by pressing a specific key of the keypad, a manage message menu screen, displaying menus such as RECEIVED MESSAGE, SENT MESSAGE and SENTENCE BOX, is displayed as illustrated in FIG. 4(A). If the sender selects the menu SENT MESSAGE, a sent message menu screen, displaying menus such as WRITE LETTER, CALL MOBILE PHONE and MANAGE SENT MESSAGE BOX, is displayed as illustrated in FIG. 4(B).
If the sender selects the menu WRITE LETTER with the sent message menu screen being displayed, a write letter menu screen, displaying menus such as WRITE NEW SENTENCE, FETCH SENTENCE and TRANSMIT, is displayed as illustrated in FIG. 4(C).

If the sender selects the write new sentence menu with the write letter menu screen being displayed, a write new sentence menu screen, including a character string input window 30 and a soft key menu for transmission 31, including a Korean/English shift key (?}), an English upper case/lower case letter shift key (A,a), a special character input key (Special) and so on, is displayed as illustrated in FIG. 4(D). The sender then inputs a specific character string to the character string input window 30 while utilizing the soft key menu for transmission 31 by manipulating the keypad.
In the character message generating process (S21), if the sender has input a specific character string to the character string input window 30 of the write new sentence menu screen, the internal text message processor of the mobile phone terminal of the sender generates a text message corresponding to the input character string by using the print code of the ASCII code.
In the background screen selection process (S22), if the sender selects a background screen selection key (Background) in the soft key menu for transmission 31 of the write new sentence menu screen, a background screen selection screen, including a background screen select window 30a to display an input character string, and a background screen key menu 31a including a background screen category selection and display key ( event), a background screen selection completion key (OK), a plurality of background screen selection and display keys (01 A T) classified on a selected-category basis, and so on, is displayed as illustrated in FIG. 4(E). Thereafter, the sender selects a specific background screen displayed on the background screen select window 30a while utilizing the background screen key menu 3 Ia, by manipulating the keypad.
At this time, the internal text message processor of the mobile phone terminal of the sender reads any one of a plurality of background screens, which include a basic background screen and specific images for expressing intentions of a sender, previously stored in internal memory, and are classified on a category basis, and displays the read background screen on the background screen selection screen.
In this case, the category corresponds to a large classification item, and the plurality of background screens belonging to a specific category corresponds to a small classification item. In particular, the basic background screen corresponds to the large classification item, and is used by a sender when the sender specifies a background screen without expressing any intention.
For reference, FIG. 4(E) illustrates a background screen (number 01) including a Christmas image A of the background screens, such as a birthday, a commemoration day and Christmas, which belong to an event category of a plurality of categories (for example, nature, weather, feeling, love, event, present, etc.) provided by the present invention.
If the sender selects the weather category of the plurality of categories, the category selection and display key is represented as " weather". If a background screen to represent rain, snow and hot, respectively displayed as 01, 02 and 03, is selected from the weather category, the background screen selection and display key is represented as "03 A T".
In the background screen index value generating process (S23), if the sender selects a specific background screen in the background screen select window 30a of the background screen selection screen to display a specific character string, the internal text message processor of the mobile phone terminal of the sender generates a background screen index value corresponding to any one of a plurality of background screens, which include a basic background screen and specific images for expressing the sender's intentions and are classified on a category basis, by using the non-print code of the ASCII code.
In the text message and background screen index value transmission process (S24), if the sender selects a specific background screen in the background screen select window 30a to display a specific character string and requests the selected background screen to be sent by manipulating the keypad, the mobile phone terminal of the sender sends the text message and the background screen index value, generated by the internal text message processor, to the mobile phone terminal of the receiver through wired/wireless Internet, a mobile communication network or the like.
In the character message read process (S25), if the receiver selects the text message service of the mobile phone terminal by pressing a specific key of the keypad, a manage message menu screen, including menus such as RECEIVED MESSAGE, SENT MESSAGE and SENTENCE BOX, is displayed as illustrated in FIG. 4(F). Thereafter, if the receiver selects the menu RECEIVED MESSAGE, a received message menu screen, including menus such as READ LETTER, CALL MOBILE PHONE and MANAGE RECEIVED MESSAGE BOX, is displayed as illustrated in FIG. 4(G).
If the receiver selects the menu READ LETTER with the received message menu screen being displayed, a read letter menu screen, including menus such as READ NEW SENTENCE, FETCH SENTENCE and TRANSMIT, is displayed as illustrated in FIG. 4(H).
If the receiver selects the read new sentence menu with the read letter menu screen being displayed, a read new sentence menu screen on which received messages are sequentially listed according to its received order, is displayed as illustrated in FIG. 4(1). Thereafter, the receiver selects a specific received message and requests the selected message to be read, by manipulating the keypad.
In the background screen inquiry process (S26), if the receiver selects a specific received message in the read new sentence menu and requests the selected message to be read by manipulating the keypad, the internal text message processor of the mobile phone terminal of the receiver inquires a basic background screen, and any background screen corresponding to the received background screen index value, of a plurality of background screens classified on a category basis, by using the non-print code of the ASCII code.
At this time, the internal text message processor of the mobile phone terminal of the receiver inquires a plurality of background screens, which include a basic background screen and specific images for representing a sender's intentions, stored in the internal memory, and are classified on a category basis in order to read any one background screen corresponding to the received background screen index value.
If, as a result of the inquiry by the internal text message processor, there is no background screen corresponding to the received background screen index value, the internal text message processor inquires a representative background screen of a specific category to which the specific background screen corresponding to the received background screen index value belongs.
In the case where the internal text message processor of the mobile phone terminal of the receiver inquires a representative background screen, it is meant that background screens stored in the mobile phone terminals of the sender and the receiver are different from each other.
In the text message and background screen display process (S27), after the background screen inquiry process (S26) is completed, the internal text message processor of the mobile phone terminal of the receiver displays a received character string, corresponding to the received text message, on a read new sentence screen including a character string display window 40 and a soft key menu for reception 41, including a delete key, a confirm key, a reply key and so on, as illustrated in FIG. 4(J), by using the print code of the ASCII code, and also displays an inquired specific background screen.
Therefore, users of mobile phone terminals to which the method of generating and displaying a text message background screen according to the present invention is applied can express their intentions by utilizing background screens of a text message, which can be selected in various ways on a category basis, while exchanging text messages.
For example, if a nature category including a plurality of background screens having specific images, such as see, river, forest, a red sky and a cloud, as the small classification item is utilized, a sender can represent a scene to be seen to a receiver.
Furthermore, if a weather category including a plurality of background screens having specific images, such as snow, rain and hot, as the small classification item is utilized, a sender can provide a receiver with weather information.
Furthermore, if a life category including a plurality of background screens having specific images, such as feel ennui, busy, late, liquor and at school, as the small classification item is utilized, a sender can represent his life situation to a receiver.
Furthermore, if a feeling category including a plurality of background screens having specific images, such as joy, sadness, anger and sorry, as the small classification item is utilized, a sender can express his current feeling to a receiver.

Furthermore, if a love category including a plurality of background screens having specific images, such as love, propose and kiss, as the small classification item is utilized, a sender can express his love to a receiver, that is, a lover counterpart.
Furthermore, if an event category including a plurality of background screens having specific images, such as a birthday, a commemoration day and Christmas, as the small classification item is utilized, a sender can express his congratulation or thanks a receiver when a variety of events occur.
Furthermore, if an event category including a plurality of background screens having specific images, such as a rose, a lily, a tulip and good luck, as the small classification item is utilized, a sender can give a receiver a background screen itself as a present.
