CLAIMS

1 ) Perfected cremation process comprising the following operations:

- placing a mortuary coffin inside a crematorium oven configured to carry out the combustion of said mortuary coffin and cremation of the corpse contained in said mortuary coffin;

- initiating the combustion of said mortuary coffin;

- conducting the combustion of said mortuary coffin for a time such as to achieve the degradation of said mortuary coffin;

characterised by arranging a combustion accelerant on the outer surface of said mortuary coffin, preferably on the outer surface of the cover of said mortuary coffin, before said initiation operation, said accelerant comprising a compound selected from alkali metal salts, alkaline earth metal salts, ammonium salts, alkali metal peroxides and alkaline earth metal peroxides.

2) Process according to the preceding claim, characterised in that said compound is an alkali metal nitrate, preferably potassium nitrate.

3) Process according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that said accelerant comprises from 10 to 99.9% by weight, preferably from 50 to 99.9% by weight, based on the total weight of said accelerant, of said compound.

4) Process according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that said accelerant is used in an amount comprised between 0.4 and 4 kg, preferably between 1 and 3.5 kg.

5) Process according to the preceding claim, characterised in that said accelerant is used in an amount comprised between 3 and 4 kg, preferably about 3.5 kg, when the thickness of said outer surface of said mortuary coffin is comprised between 1 and 3 cm, preferably about 2 cm.

6) Process according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that said accelerant further comprises from 0.1 to 90% by weight, based on the total weight of said accelerant, of one or more co-formulants.

7) Process according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that said operation for initiating the combustion of said mortuary coffin occurs in a time of less than 4 minutes, preferably less than 2 minutes, when it is conducted at a temperature higher than 400°C, preferably between 650 and 800°C.

8) Process according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that said accelerant is in the form of micropellets, each of said micropellets having size comprised between 0.2 and 5 mm, preferably between 0.5 and 3 mm.

9) Process according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that said accelerant is contained in an article (1 ) provided with a casing (10) of combustible material.

10) Process according to the preceding claim, characterised in that said accelerant is contained in a plurality of chambers (11 ) defined inside said casing (10), each of said chambers (11 ) being isolated from the external environment and from the other chambers (11 ) by a plurality of partition walls

(P).

11 ) Process according to the preceding claim, characterised in that said casing (10) has a substantially prismatic shape and said chambers (11 ) each have a substantially prismatic shape with hexagonal base.

12) Process according to claim 9, characterised in that said casing (10) is a bag, said bag being preferably made of biodegradable material.

13) Process according to the preceding claim, characterised in that said bag containing said accelerant is placed on a support element (20) of non combustible material, preferably of metallic material; said support element (20) comprising a perforated resting plane (21 ) delimited perimetrically by a frame (22); said bag containing said accelerant being placed on said perforated resting plane (21 ).

14) Process according to the preceding claim, characterised in that said perforated resting plane (21 ) is spaced from the upper perimeter edge (a) and the lower perimeter edge (b) of said frame (22) so as to take on an intermediate position between said perimeter edges (a, b) which allows said perforated resting plane (21 ) to be spaced from said outer surface of said mortuary coffin when said support element (20) is placed on said mortuary coffin.

15) Article (1 ) for accelerating a combustion process comprising a casing (10) or a substrate of combustible material containing a predefined amount of an accelerant as defined in claim 1.

16) Article (1 ) according to the preceding claim, characterised in that inside said casing (10) a plurality of chambers (11 ), isolated from each other and from the external environment, are defined by a plurality of partition walls (P), each of said chambers (11 ) containing at least a part of said accelerant, said casing (10) preferably having a prismatic shape.

17) Article (1 ) according to claim 15, characterised in that said substrate comprises a fabric impregnated with said accelerant and/or a non-woven fabric impregnated with said accelerant.

18) Use of the accelerant as defined in claim 1 or of the article (1 ) as defined in claim 17 to accelerate the cremation operation of the corpse of an animal in a crematorium oven in an animal cremation process.

19) Kit for the accelerated combustion of a mortuary coffin in a cremation process, characterised by comprising at least one bag of combustible material containing a combustion accelerant as defined in claim 1 and at least one support element (20) of non-combustible material, preferably of metallic material; said support element (20) comprising a perforated resting plane (21 ) delimited perimetrically by a frame (22) configured to support said bag; said support element (20) being adapted to be disposed on the outer surface of a mortuary coffin.

20) Kit according to the preceding claim, characterised in that said perforated resting plane (21 ) is spaced from the upper perimeter edge (a) and from the lower perimeter edge (b) of said frame (22) so as to take on an intermediate position between said perimeter edges (a, b).
