PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of calculating a wavelength dispersion amount with less computation time without using characteristic training signals.

SOLUTION: A wavelength dispersion amount estimation device includes: a correlation signal generator that generates a first signal including a main signal of a received signal and a second signal including an image signal corresponding to the main signal, the second signal having a deviation from the first signal by the baud rate of the received signal in a frequency region; a correlation calculator that calculates a cross-correlation between the first signal and the second signal; and a dispersion amount calculator that calculates a wavelength dispersion amount on the basis of the position of a peak of the cross-correlation.

【課題】特徴のあるトレーニング信号を用いることなく、少ない演算時間で波長分散量を算出すること。
【解決手段】受信信号の主信号を含む第1の信号と、前記主信号に対応するイメージ信号を含み周波数領域において前記第1の信号に対して前記受信信号のボーレート分のずれがある第2の信号とを前記受信信号から生成する相関用信号生成部と、前記第1の信号と前記第2の信号の相互相関を算出する相関算出部と、前記相互相関のピークの位置に基づいて波長分散量を算出する分散量算出部と、を備える波長分散量推定装置。
