The present invention pertains to the wood conversion industry and relates to the production of decorative end panels from timber, essentially from wood waste, wherein said panels can be used for the artistic lining of walls inside premises, of furniture and other articles or separate parts thereof as well as in the production of floorboards. This method comprises preparing a plurality of wood logs, shaping preforms having a cross section in the shape of a regular polygon, connecting said preforms into a packet by gluing them along their longitudinal edges and by compressing said packet, bucking said packet into plates and calibrating the preforms. Before shaping the preforms, rounded logs are compressed along their entire length while the preform shaping is carried out according to contour pressing method in profiled forms, wherein the preforms are further dried in said forms. The glued packet is compressed by maintaining it under a pressure applied from three axes which are perpendicular to each other. Once the packet is bucked into plates, said plates are submitted to a sizing cut in order to obtain members which are glued on a substrate so as to form a decorative pattern.

The treatment duration ranges from 2 to 4 weeks.
