The invention relates to a domestic refuse bin, wherein the bin body consists of an upper part and a lower part, the upper part receiving the refuse and the lower part comprising a control unit for operating a hydraulic system that uses a hydraulic motor, which hydraulic motor operates moveable upper and lower gears and a helical shaft connected to the upper part of the bin. The hydraulic system uses a remote control system in order to raise and lower the upper part of the bin, and also tilts the upper part of the bin by applying an upward and downward, rocking (pendular) motion in order to enable the refuse to be emptied into a suitable place in a main container. The upper part of the bin body comprises a UV-ray system for eradicating bacteria and microbes therein. The upper part further comprises: a horizontal handle that facilitates manual pushing of the device; and a cover for opening and closing the bin in order to prevent the escape of air-polluting gases and odours. The lower part of the bin body comprises: six wheels that assist the bin in ascending and descending stairs; a front wheel; and a second electric motor for operating the front wheel, which front wheel facilitates the forward, backward and rotational movement of the bin, without requiring any external intervention to push same, and uses the remote control system. The lower part further comprises: a dry-cell battery (12 volt 7 amp 28 watt) which is used as an electric power source for operating the motors of the bin; and a connection for charging the dry-cell battery by means of an external charger using domestic electricity or a car battery. The bin is available in a number of different shapes and sizes and can be completely controlled by means of smart and android devices.
