The invention relates to a method for controlling the injection rate of water or other fluids in underground oil deposits, and to an adjustable flow regulator to be preferably used to implement the method. The method essentially consists in adding small and controlled quantities of a gas to the water, reducing the speed of sound, thus allowing a critical outflow through the flow regulator, in particular venturi-equipped flow regulators. The flow regulator has a central body in a conical housing that allows the area open to the outflow, and hence the injection rate, to be adjusted when an actuator is activated. Used in conjunction with the method, this flow regulator increases the advantages of the latter, including the fact that a wide range of injection rates can thus be assured by a single regulator.

The present application discloses a method for producing hydrogen by catalytic decomposition of ammonia from acid water units. In a first step, the ammonia stream is purified in contact with various catalytic beds, removing chlorides and sulfur, and more specifically, ammonia is partially transformed into hydrogen in the bed formed by a catalyst based on alkalis and alkaline earths, supported on zinc oxide, alumina, silica-alumina and mixtures thereof, with nickel oxide as the active phase. In the second step, the purified ammonia stream is fed to the steam reforming reactor to generate hydrogen which is then purified. The application also relates to the catalyst used in the method.

The present invention also proposes a configuration for a tensile armour (54, 55) of a flexible pipe (50) produced by the above method. According to the proposed solution, after the wires (551) of the outer tensile armour (55) are cut with an offset relative to the wires (541) of the inner tensile armour (54), likewise after the latter are cut, the wires (541) of the inner tensile armour (54) are exposed and can be easily accessed in order to shape the end regions (541b) thereof after the cut, without the need to fold back the wires (551) of the outer tensile armour (55).
