The present invention relates to methods for freshening and desalting mineralised natural water or waste water. This invention more precisely relates to a method for the reverse-osmosis separation of salt crystals from mineralised water, as well as to a device for realising said method. This method involves supplying starting water under pressure into a membrane installation comprising a membrane apparatus. A permeate and a concentrate are obtained from the starting at the outlet of the membrane installation, wherein said concentrate is cooled down first in a heat exchanger and then in a crystalliser provided with a cooling system, the heat generated being discharged towards a cold source. The cooled concentrate is further fed into a separator in order to separate the crystals in the form of a dry product, the remaining solution being mixed back with the starting water by feeding it through a heat exchanger. The membrane installation includes sand filters, intermediate vessels with microfiltres, a high-pressure pump as well as membrane apparatus, wherein the installation includes at least three pairs of sand filters and intermediate vessels. The membrane apparatus are connected to each other in parallel and their number is at least equal to two. This installation also includes a chemical reactant vessel connected to the pump for supplying the starting mineralised water through a dosing pump. The membrane apparatus includes a body in which a plurality of membrane elements are provided together with filtrate discharge channels and connection pegs arranged between said membrane elements. The apparatus further includes covers provided with ducts for supplying the starting mineralised liquid and for discharging the permeate and the concentrate.

A water lifting machine has multiple facets which make it practical for use in rural and special applications. These facets include a frame on which a circular ring and a water tank are mounted in a manner in which the frame can be tipped on its side and the ring and tank then serve as wheels for transport of the machine. They also include a head which is rotated on a central conduit to lift water and has preferably downwardly or upwardly and outwardly extending arms with outlets which discharge into the ring around them, the outlets being provided with closure means openable by centrifugal effect. The arms and conduit form a siphon effect in the machine as long as there is sufficient pressure at the outlets to keep the closure means open. Drive train options allow effective application of human power for lifting water including one or two persons pedaling or two persons cranking. Options for leading the lifted water into drums or containers are provided.

An apparatus for removing metals from solution by electrowinning is described. It comprises a plurality of chambers in an endless annular array. Each chamber contains a plurality of submerged cells including a porous anode and cathode. A suction pump which draws solution from the chamber through the anode and then the cathode and discharges the solution back into the chamber. There are a valve controlled inlet to and a discharge from each chamber together with a valve controlled connector connecting the chambers to one another. The first chamber is filled with loaded solution and after treatment in the first chamber the solution is passed to the next chamber and so on around the annulus. By changing the valve settings the next chamber becomes the 'first' chamber and this continued around the annulus. The metal adhering to the cathode is removed by flushing liquid or preferably by ultrasonic waves.

Currents following through coil sets up a magnetic field, which changes the magnetic polarity of the coil every 1/50 of a second. The same current flowing through coil also sets up a magnetic field of which its magnetic field also now changes every 1/50 of a second. At the same time the magnetic field around each turn of each coil also changes. According to Lens Law the magnetic field set up in a coil will always react against the source of supply causing the magnetic field in the coil. Once you have installed the coil and it is on line with, for example, 11 KV the following takes place. The coil's magnetic field is now activated with a constant flow of 11 KV. When the lightning strikes the overhead line and the spike is running on the overhead line to the transformer via the coil. As it hits the coil both sides is now activated much higher than the 11 KV for instance 1000 000 volt now you have got two coils electric field opposing each other. This lightning spike is now absorb, dissipated, neutralized, cancelled. All this happens within 1/50 of a second. Then the power is back to (11 KV) normal. You have not redirected the lightning spike, you have neutralized it completely.
